The Schooner "VLTAVA" has a sparred length of 86' with a 78,' LOD x 19' 7" max Beam and an 11' Draft. This impressive windjammer was reportedly built in the 60's, but may be newer judging by condition and advanced construction methods. Designed by Davies, she was built by Jan Poopisil at Wilmington, CA. (Wilmington has a long and proud shipbuilding tradition and has been the origin of many fine wood vessels over the years.) The vessel appears to be very well built with impressive scantlings and design taking full advantage of modern materials in combination with excellent wood construction techniques. The pictures given here do not do her justice, SHE IS A MUST SEE for serious Schooner Buyers. A survey conducted in June '97 was favorable and it is believed she will positively impress her next surveyor as well. This yacht appears sound and to require only relatively minor maintenance and cosmetic attention of the usual "annual" variety. A well-found craft with many spares and much electronics as well as other equipment, she has reportedly circumnavigated and appears ready to go again. Sail inventory looks good; lots of winches, great helm position, and much more. (CALL FOR DETAILED SPEC'S). Can sleep ~20 and has two very nice double-sized-bunk staterooms in the waist. We think she's built right, equipped right, and laid out right. Those who've sailed "VLTAVA" speak fondly of her handling and performance. If you have been looking for a comfortable world cruiser and a great home at or away from the dock: YOUR SHIP HAS COME IN!
