56' Trojan Aft cabin pilot house
Everyone who sees this boat falls absolutely head over heels in love with it! She is vintage 1976, and the remodel that has been done is nothing short of amazing. This is one of only a couple of boats I have seen that I could actually live on. There are so many things that set her apart from the others, I'm not sure where to start. She's great as a coastal cruiser, and I think she's just perfect for living aboard. I love that she has a designated space for her galley. The galley is all by itself. Its huge and half the room is a large super comfortable built in banquet, so its a great place for lounging or casual dining. That brings me to one of my favorite features- the layout. There are some large open spaces on the boat, for instance, the salon which gets even bigger when you slide open the doors to the hard top, four season sundeck. The bridge is a huge open space, but what is so attractive on this boat are all the separate spaces and "cubbies" if you will. There are many spaces to be together with your friends, but also so many places to get away from it all. It's fabulous because it is so well remodeled and so new, clean and casually luxurious that you feel like you're on vacation every day. Another great attribute is that there are many features that will make you feel more like you're in a house rather than on a boat. One of those is the master head's five foot cast iron tub and ceramic tile tub surround. It also has the same glass door slider you may have on your tub at home. Another is the extra large porcelain sink with a disposal in the galley. Let's not forget to mention the dishwasher or the full size washer and dryer side by side in their own dedicated space. Another space, that will remind you of home, is the window niche where the current owner displays his family photos- very charming. The bar will not remind you of home, because you probably don't have a bar this nice in your home. It has the same Corian countertops you'll find throughout the boat, this time with an integrated bar sink, sliding and etched glass panels that open to the pilot house, mirrors, artwork and a wine glass rack- it just sparkles! Another great attribute is just the quality and custom nature of the remodel. It is abundantly clear that only the finest materials have been used and everything is in such good condition and so nice, modern and new. There is a recurring dolphin theme etched on several of the glass panels around the boat as just one example of the level of customization on this boat. The fact that Steve Garvey used to own this boat has nothing to do with anything, but it does peak your interest doesn't it?
This is a pretty boat, but let's get to the meat and potatoes of it. Twin Cummins diesels that run like swiss watches. Stem to Stern did a thirty point check up on the engines a couple of months ago and no problems- everything is systems go. The engine room is spotless and the owner, who is 6'2" can stand straight up in there. The 8kw Westerbeke generator has also recently been serviced and it runs great. The radiator hoses have been replaced and all the batteries have been replaced including the genset batteries. She's equipped to sail around the world and has been outfitted appropriately. She's got a water maker; a rudder angle indicator; a tank tender; Naiad stabilizers; high bilge water alarm;a Standard c75 hailer; a Lowrance LTD surface water temperature; a systems voltage monitor; a Standard hailer; a Raytheon sea temp; a KVH TracVisionII antenna; a Brower AC davit to bridge deck; a floating position strobe and engine alarms just to name a few things that will keep your journey safe and comfortable. So, forget about the age of the boat. Sometimes you just have to trust what you're being told. She is everything I've described and much, much more.
