Sporting the reputation of being the most successful IRC 40 footer in the world, she has the race record to prove it. Winning Key West Race Week, Montego Bay Pineapple Cup, 2 Big Boat Series and the West Coast IRC Championship just to name a few. Truly cutting edge in all areas from the use of Harken Quatro 50 electric winches with push button controls all over the boat to the custom milled fin and the custom High Modulus Hall Spar rig. To add to all of this “Soozal” can be sailed by two people while enjoying a very cruise friendly interior and the use of the electric winches.

1984 Islander "Rasa"Alan P. Gurney, designer of the Islander is internationally known for his offshore racing and cruising yachts. His objective: Design a 36-foot yacht that would be a competitive machine but that also could cruise a family comfortably. The result: The Islander 36 and now more that 600 are sailing the world over.
The 36 is a proven contender and surprisingly easy to handle under any conditions... you can control her in a 25-knot wind with just one hand on the wheel. The cockpit was designed large enough to enable a race crew to work efficiently and the wide beam not only enhances stability but also adds to the "living room" below decks.
All topside hardware has been replaced or re-bedded including all stanchions, new ports, new windows. RASA is a sloop rigged, fin keel, skeg mounted rudder, with keel stepped mast that was been stepped, painted and re-wired in 2011. You will recognise her as a consistent winner in Southern California for may years.

the Columbia 30 Sport Yacht has proven itself to be a capable distance racer. Owners have
excelled in offshore and coastal races, some in excess of 300 nautical miles. The boats have
demonstrated theirstrength, durability andperformance in wild ocean conditions and true wind
speeds of 40 knots. The Columbia 30Sport Yacht is a true pocket ocean racer. While many of
our owners enjoy offshore distance racing, we understand that this type of sailing and racing is
not for everyone. Most sailing is done one afternoon at a time. And, most day sailors, buoy
