The New Lipari 41
Fountaine Pajot – the world’s leading manufacturer of cruising catamarans – has just
revealed a sixth, a top-secret sailing cat, the Lipari 41
After an extensive and covert 1,000 nautical mile sea trial by Fountaine Pajot’s own design
and manufacturing team in the Irish Sea, the company has just announced the official
launch of the newest addition to its sailing fleet, which will make its world debut at the 2009
Southampton International Boat Show.
The Lipari 41 replaces Fountaine Pajot’s ever popular Lavezzi 40 model, one of the
company’s most successful sailing catamaran designs. The new Lipari 41 joins five other
new models that will debut over the next 12 months. The first four boats have just been
unveiled at Fountaine Pajot’s annual dealer conference in La Rochelle. The Lipari 41 was
joined by owner’s-layout versions of the Orana 44 and Salina 48 and the all-new Galathea
65, all sailing catamarans.
Hailed after its secret sea-trial as a ‘new benchmark for catamaran design’, the Lipari 41 has
upheld its creative goal for being designed by sailors for sailors. “As is the case with each of
our models, every aspect of the Lipari 41 design is borne out of combining the best of both
form and function,” Explains Olivier Caris, Commercial Director of Fountaine Pajot. “Whether
it’s re-creating domestic luxuries in the owner’s suite or developing a rig that performs in
both blue-water passages and light airs; the Lipari 41 delivers on every level.”
