Dave Carleson, the owner, has over 45 years of racing and offshore sailing under his belt, including many trips across the Columbia Bar. He has owned and operated a sailboat tooling and production company, and has been a part of Mahina for 10 years. Dave is still an active sailor and currently lives aboard a classic wooden motor yacht.

Jack Bateman has been sailing since the age of 15, and he's been on and around boats, the sea and ships most of his life. A merchant seaman for fifteen years, he's been around the world twice on oil tankers, so don't get him started on sea stories.
