Why list your boat with Little Yacht Sales?
You’ve made the decision to sell your boat. Selling a boat is not unlike buying one. You will still need someone who has the experience and knowledge to get the job done.
The Brokers of Little Yacht Sales (LYS) have:
Over 28 years of selling just yachts and successfully bringing buyers and sellers together.
Over 28 years of outfitting new and brokerage yachts for world cruising. Many of my customers sail and boat here, but many have cruised throughout the US and Caribbean. Several have even circumnavigated.
LYS principal, Kent Little is one of, if not the oldest,Florida Licensed Broker in Texas, (License #1815) and have been since 1993. We have traveled throughout the US, the Caribbean and Europe to represent (my) clients and their interests.
Kent Little is also a Regional Captain for YBAA, the Yacht Brokers Association of America (www.ybaa.org).
Kent Little was also the first Broker in Texas to receive accreditation from the YBAA as a CPYB, Certified Professional Yacht Broker. www.cpyb.net. To date fewer than 600 brokers nationally have received this accreditation.
We are very experienced in selling boats to buyers from out of state there by increasing the marketing potential of a boat to a wider market.
Kent was also the top salesman for the previous brokerage I worked at since coming to Clear Lake in 1991.
Over 28 years of selling boats has brought us directly in contact with nearly every brand imaginable. Because of this LYS holds a vast product knowledge of both power and sail boats whether US built, of Far Eastern design or European. Whatever boat you are interested in, chances are we have sold one, sailed on one or motored on one.
Boat Manufacturers we have personally visited and toured:
Beneteau factories in Les Sables D’ Olonne, France and Marion SC
Jeanneau Lagoon (Catamaran) Factory, Nantes France
Fountaine Pajot, La Rochelle France
Pacific Seacraft, Fullerton Ca
Albin Marine-Bristol, RI
J/Boats (TPI factory) -RI
Island Packet, Largo FL
Catalina Yachts, Woodland Hills CA
Catalina/Morgan Yachts, Largo, FL
Too many people promise too much and delivery to little. By working with a smaller select group of clients one on one, We have the time to sit down with you and discuss your wants and needs. The goal is not to list every boat we see but to see and know every boat we list. We can provide many references from past-satisfied clients.
When looking for a broker to list your boat you should be asking yourself these questions:
Is my broker experienced not only in sales, but YACHT Sales and how long has he been doing this?--We have over 28 years’ experience exclusively in Yacht Sales.
Will the brokers in this office treat my boat like it was their own listing?--The brokers in my office act as a team in every listing. We all help each other.
Can my broker accurately give me the data needed so that together we can really see what my boat is worth and evaluate not only what we should ask but also how long it might take to sell?--We do a free market analysis with every listing inquiry and discuss this with you in detail before we list your boat.
Is my broker particular about what he lists? Is he trying to manage a lot of listings or a few quality listings? --Our motto is we personally inspect every boat we list. We do not list every boat we see.
Does LYS have resources and contacts in the industry to get the word out on my boat? and Will LYS be open to co-brokering my boat? --Over 28 years of co- brokering has enabled us to build a network from which to workfrom in buying or selling. If a co-broker calls LYS about one of our listings they can be assured we will work with him to the best of our ability to help him sell the boat as well.
Is my broker licensed to buy and sell in the state of Florida? --Yes, Little Yacht Sales has one of the oldest Florida License (#1815) and it’s the oldest license number of any brokerage in Texas. The Florida license is also accepted in the state of California.
Has my broker passed the Certified Professional Yacht Broker exam? -- YES not only was I the first broker in Texas to receive the accreditation, but I was also instrumental in helping to set up a national accreditation to begin with. Kent’s previous office, Sea Lake, was the first office in the US to
have ALL CPYB Brokers! This is a priority for LYS as well.
What will my broker do that will set my boat apart from the others that are on the market?
He will personally inspect your boat and make suggestions of what you should do to the boat to maximize her dockside appeal and also obtain the highest asking price. We believe in doing more detailed listings than most brokers. Ask to see a sample. Carefully analyzing the data and securing a proper listing is only part of the job. We at LYS will provide detailed photographs of your boat, more than just what is listed online. If an out of state buyer calls that buyer will have in his hands within the hour photos that will show him why your boat is better than any of the others listed.
Is my broker using state of the art technology to sell my boat? -We were using digital photos and video before anyone and we have a very active website as well as social media websites.
Will my broker keep me informed? We will keep you informed monthly, usually via email, about our asking price and how it is comparable to what else is on the market. It does neither of us any good to list a boat and just wait for someone to come along. We have to be proactive about the price and what is happening in the market.
