Ocean Sport Boats
Experience Equals Excellence
A steadfast belief in quality and function, paired with a lifetime of experience shaped Ocean Sport Boats, a line that stands alone in its class. No corners were cut, no shortcuts were taken and quality won out over quantity every time. Unlike large, assembly line factories, every boat that leaves the Ocean Sport facility is personally worked on and inspected by its builders, ensuring that the highest standards are met in every boat, every time.
Jim Lindell and Ron Meng partnered to design and build the best mid-size cruising and sport fishing boats available in today’s market, the Ocean Sport Boat line. Combining more than eight decades of boat building, rigging and mechanical knowledge (along with a lifetime spent fishing and cruising), Jim and Ron shared the belief that today’s savvy boat owner wants a tough, high-tech, economical vessel.
Jim has been building commercial fishing boats, pleasure boats and runabouts for more than 46 years. Well-known and respected, his reputation in the industry in cemented on a strong foundation of producing progressive, high quality boats with functional good-looks. Again and again, Jim and his wife RoseMary have set the industry’s standard – Ocean Sport Boats is the latest manifestation of that expertise.
Ron began with tenacity and a dream. He followed that up with hard work and a curious, progressive mind. What began as a young mechanic selling services and parts out of the trunk of his car grew into a full-size marina, boat dealership and award-winning service department. For more than 35 years, Ron and his wife Jennifer have continued to set the precedent for customer service.
A Progressive Process
Ocean Sport Boats hull, deck and superstructure are manufactured using vinyl ester resin with a urethane corecell core and knitted bi-directional e-glass. Instead of using antiquated hand-layup fiberglass techniques, state of the art infusion injection vacuum bagging construction is used. This advanced process involves constructing an airtight vacuum over the structure. When that vacuum is pulled the resin is infused throughout all composite components of the structure. Every component of the boat is vacuum infused. The end result is a stronger, lighter, better-built boat, which offers superior resistance to blistering and abrasion. Furthermore, the overall weight is reduced by more than 30 percent while the boat’s strength is increased by 150 percent – numbers that could never be accomplished using hand lay-up techniques. One of the most obvious benefits of this is Ocean Sport Boat’s improved fuel economy.
Powered by the Best
As with every detail of Ocean Sport Boats, only the best was chosen when it came to power. Jim and Ron wanted Ocean Sport Boats to be powered by engines that were as progressive as the boats themselves. Volvo Penta’s newest common rail technology, with an option of single or twin engines, was chosen to power the Ocean Sport line. With the choice of either gas or diesel, the horse power ranges from 350 to 740, meaning these mid-size boats top out at more than 53 knots.
Setting the Standard for the Rest
The Ocean Sport Boat line’s interior was designed with both comfort and function in mind. So, you will find a spacious cabin, which easily sleeps six, boasting the amenities of a much larger vessel, including a two-burner propane stove, an AC/DC refrigerator and freezer, a convection oven/microwave, an 80 gallon fresh water tank, a six gallon hot water tank and a roomy head which includes a vacu-flush toilet and a stand-up shower. The interior is finished to the highest degree, appointed with beautiful teak and holly drawers, table and doors. Ocean Sport Boats offers one of the longest lists of standard equipment available in its class.
The Ocean Sport Roamer interior boasts a stand-up head, complete with teak and holly cabinets, a vacu-flush toilet, a sink and a stand up shower.
The comfortable helm station offers 360 degree views through forward facing windows as well as a funcational electronics configuration.
The interior of Ocean Sport Boats offers three different sleeping areas including a roomy aft stateroom. Aside from that, the V-Berth provides plenty of space. The dinette also converts to a berth.
