If you didn’t attend our Spring Rendezvous last year, you’ve got to put it on your calendar for 2011! We held it at Poets Cove Resort and Spa.
Last year was a huge success with more than 90 people attending the weekend’s events. And we can’t wait to do it all over again at this year’s rendezvous! Poets Cove Resort and Spa has been featured in several boating publications. The resort has a heated pool as well as a hot tub, two excellent restaurants a gorgeous pub and several different types of entertainment, including hiking, kayaking, sight-seeing and golf and a spa complete with steam cave.
Once again, you can either rent one of the resort’s lovely rooms or reserve a spot on the spacious dock. For moorage reservations, call 1-866-888-2683 and let them know you are with Islands Marine Center, as we have already blocked 40 slips. The moorage rate is $1.10 per foot. For Canada Customs,Poets Cove will need your boat name, registration number and citizenship information. For room reservation at the resort call 1-888-512-7638 and notify the staff that you want one of the rooms blocked by IMC. We have 3 (left) Lodge rooms available at $169.00 (Canadian funds).

Islands Marine Center image 2009 we had a record year and almost filled up their docks and 22 of the rooms.

Islands Marine Center image The Sea Glass Ballroom is where we had all our meals together. Friday we had a welcome buffet, then Saturday breakfast and dinner and an evening of great prizes.

Islands Marine Center image Last years prize girls- Elizabeth, Mariah and Katherine handed out all the prizes. They were dressed in their best Velvet dresses with gloves.

Islands Marine Center image Ed Ferro wins a prize. IMC wants to thank him and his wife Jan, they are from the Friday Harbor Power Squadron and they gave any person who wanted a safety inspection. They did a great job and everyone was very happy for the time and effort they put into it.

We want to thank our vendor and suppliers for the great raffle prizes. Diversified, Fisheries, Yamaha, Garmin, Volvo, Harbercraft and Pursuit. We gave away SS BBQ's, wake board skies, 303, fishing poles & reels, tuna gear, boat hooks, life vests and much more.

Islands Marine Center image John Moore has a wining ticket and a funny story to tell!!

Islands Marine Center image Katherine is busy passing out prizes. This was her 6th year attending the event. She looks forward to it all year long.

Islands Marine Center image Steve Kyser was a Pursuit Mug winner and he couldn't have been happier. A great weekend with fabulous weather, friends new & old, and great food and adventure.

Islands Marine Center image Mariah was the newest prize girl. She fit right in and enjoyed herself with the big girls.

Islands Marine Center image Saturday was sunny and beautiful and several boats headed to Ganges for their Saturday market. It was great, with lots of good food, beautiful jewelry and local crafts.

Islands Marine Center image Ganges shoppers stop for a photo op.

Islands Marine Center image There's always something fun to do in the town of Ganges.

Islands Marine Center image Haley & Maddie are ready for some serious shopping in Ganges.

Islands Marine Center image Maddie is already in the drivers seat as far as Grandpa is concerned. She loves taking the wheel and driving the big boat.

Islands Marine Center image Catching up with old friends and making new ones is always special.

Islands Marine Center image Ron & his granddaughter Maddie thanked everyone for coming and for their patronage throughout the years.

Islands Marine Center image We had 5 couples that had so much fun in years past, at our Rendezvous, that now they leave a day early and stay a day longer to enjoy their boats more. Here they are, anchored in Garrison Bay, on their way south.

Islands Marine Center image Sunset over Pender Island. We end a beautiful weekend with this fabulous sunset.

Islands Marine Center image Midnight visitor.

Islands Marine Center image Last years event doubled from
the first year. We had a pleasurable
gathering at the dock around
6pm after clearing Customs and
settling into our slips.

Islands Marine Center image We want to Thank all of our great sponsors.

Islands Marine Center image Here is the beautiful waterfall
outside of the hotel.
There is a hot tub at the lower
level and a steam cave underneath
for the Spa clients.

Islands Marine Center image Saturday morning everyone was treated to
a delicious Breakfast Buffet. It was a great
way to start the day.
We had 4 gentlemen who headed to
the golf course, others stayed at the
resort and used the pool and spa,
while others hiked to town (by accident 8 miles)
and some took boats and went to Ganges
for the Saturday market and shopping.

Islands Marine Center image Saturday early morning our weather changed
for the first half of the day
and we had rain. It didn't stop the golfers
or the shoppers from their outings.

Here we are going through the cut
between North & South Pender.

Islands Marine Center image Our two youngest members had a ball playing with each other and exploring
the resort, and the best was the
swimming pool.

They were non stop.

Islands Marine Center image Saturday dinner was a chicken & lamb BBQ
with roasted vegtables, pasta salad and dessert.

Jeff King went out fishing and supplied
us with prawns,which were delicious.

Islands Marine Center image Here is Ron Meng, IMC President
with his mother in law,
wife Jennifer, niece Amanda
and daughter Tina.

It's a family affair.

Islands Marine Center image Dianne & Paul Perry from Pursuit joined us this year.
They love the beautiful resort and
enjoyed the cool weather (as they flew up from Florida).
Paul joined the golf party on Saturday and had
great stories to tell us at the dinner party.
We were glad they joined us and
are proud to be associated with such a
top notch boat building company.

Islands Marine Center image Poets Cove is an absolutely beautiful resort.
The heated pool is alway perfect, the hot tub relaxing and the showers are great. There is something for everyone.

Islands Marine Center image Saturday after dinner we had the prize drawings.
Here Ron is showing off the Lure Toilet Seat.
Everyone was waiting to win it. All Sports
donated a rod & reel combo. Lunde
donated binoculars. Fisheries donated a
handheld VHF and 2 cruising guides.
IMC donated crab cookers, stock pots, a fish cleaning station, nautical pillows and rugs.
Everyone had lots of fun
and almost everyone won something.

Islands Marine Center image We also had lots of four legged friends
join our party.

Here is Ron with River.
