I’m so privileged to have enjoyed a 12-year history with this awesome yacht and her owners. I’ve been an occasional and eager guest or member of her crew, having traveled approximately 19,000 miles aboard, up and down the east coast many times, through most of the ICW repeatedly, as well as back and forth to the Bahamas. She’s a magnificent craft in all respects – trend setting when first built, and still a fast, powerful, and supremely comfortable yacht for luxury cruising. She’s timeless in her lines and fits comfortably amongst the $5M+ yachts being built today. Her owners have traveled approximately 45,000 miles on her over the last 12 years.
Having spent so much time aboard, I’ve become very familiar with her many virtues and wonderful features. There were 40 of these yachts built from 1994 until 2002. This is hull #2. Why does that matter? This was only the second Lazzara ever to exist. You can bet that the company went to extreme lengths to get everything just right as their new company got off the ground. These first yachts off the line had to be as close to perfect as possible to help secure new orders and help the company grow into the luxury yacht builder they are today.
There were two other configurations of this yacht (wide bodies and the sky lounge edition). This is BY FAR the most ‘boaty’ of the group. Having the side decks is essential to daily boating and practical use. Do you want to slog through a widebody model in foulies and carrying wet lines and fenders? The open flybridge is truly the ONLY way to be a true boater. Yes, the sky lounge adds more square footage to your interior space but do you need more interior space? Do you really want to drive your yacht through the Caribbean from inside your living room? Of course not…J
Notes/highlights about this boat
She’s sleek, she’s fast, and she’s beautiful. Her layout just works really well. She’s a party boat for 30-40 of your best friends for a day, a cruiser that sleeps ten, or an incredible family voyager with fantastic living and lounge spaces. You just won’t find a megayacht with a better layout than this boat. She has five staterooms and five en suite heads plus a day head off the galley and interior helm. She’s a true voyager yacht with incredible exterior acreage for wonderful times spent outdoors underway or at anchor. When the weather isn’t suitable, you can run the entire yacht from the safety and warmth of the lower helm down below.

LAZZARA Company History
Though Lazzara Yachts was founded in 1990, this family owned business has a long and rich yachting history dating all the way back to 1955 when mechanical engineer Vince Lazzara designed and built his first large sailing yacht, the Columbia Yachts 40. As a pioneer of fiberglass construction, Vince and Columbia Yachts quickly became the largest manufacturer of fiberglass sailboats in the world. In 1967, Vince sold Columbia yachts and ventured to Florida, where he formed Gulfstar Yachts. Capitalizing on Columbia’s excellent reputation, Gulfstar quickly became a leader in the production high quality ocean capable yachts. By 1975, Gulfstar had ventured into production of high-end performance motor yachts and soon Vince’s two sons, Brad and Dick joined the family business.
Brad and Dick soon saw the potential to move the power end of the business in a new and exciting direction. In 1990, the Lazzara brothers broke off on their own, forming Lazzara Yachts Corporation, quickly establishing the company as a high-end producer of semi-custom order yachts that would revolutionize the 76’ to 116’ yacht market. Their first yacht, the Lazzara 76 left the production line in 1994, bringing the new company instant world-wide accolades for innovation by wedding Italian-style design, a luxury interior, high end finishes, and award winning construction. Lazzara has received a number of awards including the MTU “Zero Defect” award for the Lazzara 76 in 1994, as well as awards from The American Society of Interior Designers, Showboats International, International Superyacht Design, and Mercedes Benz. Lazzara has continued with their award-winning construction of semi-custom yachts ranging from 68’ to 130.’ ON COURSE is hull #2 from this amazing company.
