FLEMING AND CHUCK HOVEY YACHTS - FUTURE: Our successful practice for our NEW Flemings is to have as many options completed by the factory as possible, prior to shipping, which greatly simplifies the commissioning process of your boat and also decreases the wait time for local installed options to be completed. Our Flemings come from the factory with options already installed such as bow thrusters, stern thrusters, stabilizers, hard tops, anchor, chain, underwater lights, underwater cameras, prop-speed, kelp cutters, electronics transducers and come pre-wired and pre-plumbed for the water makers and bait systems. When your boat arrives the local installed option list is short and simple, normally including a custom interior décor soft goods package designed especially for your boat to your individual taste, the installation of the water maker (already factory pre-wired and pre-plumbed), a dinghy (power rotating dingy davit already factory installed), the installation of the audio visual package (again already factory pre-wired) and the installation of the electronics navigation package. CHY has believed from the beginning that yacht electronics are a specialty unto themselves and therefore require experts dedicated solely to that field. Electronics are unique to each individual owner’s requirements and that is why it is absolutely necessary that we rely on our trusted network of electronic equipment specialists to directly advise, install, train and support the rapidly changing complexities of navigation electronics for our valued clients. CHY passes through all of the local installed option prices direct to our clients at dealer cost without mark-up, and provides copies of all local installed option original invoices for the owner’s records. This boat has recently completed the outfitting process with the latest state of the art navigation electronics, entertainment center, interior décor, watermaker and other accessories which include a bow and stern thruster, boat deck and cockpit control docking stations, power rotating dinghy davit, dual fresh water pumps, second generator, underwater lights, cockpit freezer, factory hardtop, BBQ, hydraulic opening and sliding owner’s stateroom bed, VIP guest stateroom layout, and other factory options necessary for long range cruising. FLEMING 55- The Serious Cruising Yacht! The Fleming 55 is a well-proven raised-pilothouse motoryacht designed for serious cruising. Her semi-displacement hull gives her great flexibility in performance. The Fleming 55 has a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 8 knots yet, with her standard Twin Cummins QSC 500 hp common rail engines, she can attain a top speed of approximately 20 knots. Maximum sustained cruising speed is around 17 knots where her moderate deadrise provides a comfortable ride unlike those boats for which speed is the main design criteria. These high speed, planning hulls require flatter sections making for a hard ride and the need to slow down in a seaway. On long passages, Fleming owners prefer a more leisurely and economical speed of 10 knots, where the typical fuel burn is slightly more than 10 gph.
