Hall Marine Group

The First Store
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The story of Hall Marine Group all got started in 1974. The Hall family was offered the opportunity to build a marina in a lakeside residential community on scenic Lake Wylie, just southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tega Cay Marina opened in June 1975, under the guidance of Rod and Fran Hall, with help from the late Jim Carroll. The marina proved a successful test ground for the Hall's business philosophy of personal service and commitment to a fair deal for every customer.

Flagship Location
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Demand for similar quality service from boaters elsewhere on the lake quickly grew and in October 1976, Mr. Hall secured a plot of land for what has become the Group's flagship location---Lake Wylie Marina. In the early years, Lake Wylie Marina handled a wide range of boat lines including Winner, Chris Craft, Glassmaster, Galaxy, Cruisers, Inc, Terry, Boston Whaler and Stingray. However, in 1981, the Halls and Sea Ray found each other and boaters soon began to appreciate the combined benefits of Sea Ray products and the Hall's family approach to sales and service. As a result, Lake Wylie Marina became an exclusive Sea Ray dealer by 1984. Today, that alliance is one of the most important and successful in the American marine industry.

Beyond a strong relationship with Sea Ray, Rod Hall has worked to make Lake Wylie Marina an unmatched facility for boaters. The first 200-rack dry storage facility and showroom/office were built in late 1979. An additional 300-rack dry storage facility was added in 1984. Later in the 1980's, wet slip dock replacement and showroom expansion took place and in 1995 an auxiliary showroom was added to facilitate the display of larger boats.

Expanding the Business
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With Lake Wylie Marina building a strong reputation, Hall Marine Group began to look to other markets which could benefit from the Hall's unique family approach to boating. Tega Cay was sold to make way for expansion to Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina, in 1987 and 1988. The growing community of Lake Norman, to the northwest of Charlotte, was the next logical site for a new Sea Ray dealership. It became a reality with the 1997 completion of a "state of the art" sales & service facility. By 1998, as recognized leaders in the marine industry, the Halls expanded further, turning their attention to Savannah, Georgia. First came the completion of a new sales & service facility, Sea Ray of Savannah, and then the purchase of Savannah Bend Marina, located on the Intercoastal Waterway in Thunderbolt, Georgia.

In 1999, Hall Marine begin the process of expanding again by moving to the upstate of South Carolina. Sea Ray of Greenville became a reality and now serves the upstate. With the rapid growth in the Lake Norman area, Hall Marine expanded again in 2000, opening Sea Ray of Lake Norman-Northlake to better serve this area of Lake Norman.

Quality and Family Values
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Built over a generation, Hall Marine is one of Sea Ray's top five dealers worldwide! That's why they were one of only a handful of elite Sea Ray dealers nationwide chosen to represent Azimut luxury boats in their new joint venture with Sea Ray. Time-tested and people-proven, the sheer commitment and family values of Hall Marine Group have made it the recognized, professional network for first-time boaters and seasoned mariners alike. As Rod Hall puts it: "My parents taught me right from wrong. We aim to do right by every customer, every time." Year after year, a large and loyal clientele, from the Carolinas to Georgia, are enjoying the reality of that personal pledge.
