Administration and management of crew, contracts and economic definition: this service includes the calculation and payment of salaries, board wages, and the calculation and payment of holidays and travel expenses. We look after all details regarding the appointment of your Captain and assist him in the selection of crew members, checking of licences and suitable qualifications. We also deal with negotiation of contracts, definition of objectives and performance assessment. We may make use of independent recruitment agencies in our search for the most highly qualified personnel. Any calculating of taxes and levies and the keeping of wage books, if required by the tax regime of flag authorities, may be carried out by external operators. Should the owner so wish, he or she can play a full role in the selection of crew members for the main positions on the yacht. If, on the other hand, the owner prefers not to be involved in this process, the Company shall select the most suitable crew without involving the owner in the preliminary phase.

Administrative management of the yacht: this service envisages the management of a dedicated bank account in the name of the proprietor, which the Company acts on by proxy, looking after such aspects as general accounts as well as specific on board accounts, expenses, the presentation of an annual budget revised on a quarterly basis, the presentation of a quarterly budget report and the presentation of an annual balance; we also manage negotiations with the main suppliers. The Company also looks after the request and receipt of funds organised on a quarterly basis, relative to the above mentioned budget report. The aim of the early sending of funds enables prompt payment of invoices, so as to preserve the reputation of the yachts and their owners, and so as to prevent delays in delivery. We apply a strict checking procedure on invoices, through an approval process that involves the Captain, our Company and, if necessary, the owner in person. We feel we should underline the importance of using an individual account for every vessel in the name of and on behalf of the proprietor. This procedure guarantees extra financial security to the owner, who can also gain instant access to his or her account as and when desired. On board administration can be organised and simplified by the installation of administrative software on the on board computer, in addition to the operating system of our own administrative facilities. We carry out a training program for Captains in the use of this administrative program.

Technical support: we provide assistance to Captains regarding the running and maintenance of yachts. This includes the drawing up and illustration to the owner of a routine and special work list for approval. We research and select suppliers and dockyards, and evaluate and negotiate quotations. Checks are made on work carried out by crew, suppliers and outside contractors. We also provide assistance to insurance brokers in case of accident and negotiate with Naval Registers and relevant technical authorities. We carry out periodic visits on board in order to check the condition of the vessel, and the general operation of the “boat system”, both during fitting out and in season. Floating Life undertakes to operate in absolute independence as regards vessel owners and in the sole interests of its clients, and guarantees that no refunds, fees or commissions shall be requested regarding routine or special maintenance carried out on the yacht.

Logistical support: we look after the booking of ports, bunkering services (we make fuel available tax exempt where possible), and spare parts. We also provide services through carefully selected local and international tourist and catering agencies, and provide consultation for the execution of bureaucratic matters in local public bodies.

Floating Life shall nominate reference personnel for each individual owner. This member of staff shall be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Every yacht that we manage has a team assigned formed of an administrative expert and a technician, who act as references for the owner and crew, carrying out the abovementioned services.

The costs of the management service are all-inclusive, and therefore any discounts, commissions or concessions proposed shall be passed directly to the client. The charter service, the technical consulting and the new construction assistance is regulated by a separate agreement. In addition to all services above mentioned, Floating Life, through the Floating Life Italia Srl offices, can act as a member of the Ship Agents Association to Owners of Italian Flag vessels registered with the International Commercial Registry as well as all other vessels, offering essential services such as: crew selection, signing-on and disembark; assistance to sailing vessels and to crew in ports; assistance to Captains towards local authorities or third parties; goods handling and delivery; custom and harbour assistance; crew signing-on and disembark; hotel and travel arrangements for passengers.
