FREE ADVICE:
Use your boat. Don't let it sit.
Once a year, wipe some silicone grease on porthole gaskets and snaps.
If your A/C ices up, check the water flow, close any open doors or windows and turn the heat up.
Avoid getting wax or cleaning products on the A/C control pad sensor.
Normally leave A/C fan on automatic.
Peroxide will eliminate mold in condensation overflow trays.
Bleach mixed with water cleans shower sumps. Pour it down drains. Let it sit for 20 minutes, and then run two or three gallons of fresh water through the system.
If it hasn't gone in your mouth, it shouldn't go in the toilet.
Use marine toilet paper.
Use manufacturers' recommended toilet treatments and cleaners.
Make sure there's water around the toilet seal. Lift the pedal to add some.
Use water from your tank to wash your boat, and then refill the tank occasionally.
Clean strainers regularly; put Vaseline on wingnuts and gaskets.
Check the freshwater pump filter if water pressure drops.
If your water pump doesn't work, check its fuse.
Don't allow your waste tank to become more than three-quarters full.
Carry spare pump-out fitting caps.
At every third pumpout, back flush the holding tank.
Turn off panel and receptacle power when connecting or disconnecting shore power.
Vaseline protects power connectors.
Make sure shore power cords are properly seated to avoid arcing.
Make sure all underwater metal is properly bonded.
Have a CO detector even on a diesel.
Secure gear before getting under way.
Vaseline protects fuel fill cap O-rings. Don't overtighten them.
Get on plane quickly and off plane gradually.
Carry compass binoculars.
Anchor line angle should be no less than 45 degrees.
Carry spare impellers, fuel filters, belts, oil and antifreeze.
Carry a mirror, turkey baster, funnel, disposable flashlights, spare anchor/ rode and oil absorbent pads.
