Farr Yacht Design establishes Farr Yacht Sales
A new company to focus on the sales, marketing and brokerage of racing and performance cruising yachts.
Farr Yacht Sales is tasked with expanding our contact with the performance sailing industry and servicing existing and new clients, allowing Farr Yacht Design to remain focused on the design and engineering of the fastest performance yachts in the world.
This is not an entirely new concept for Farr Yacht Design, who had Farr Internaional provide sales, marketing and project management support for over 20 years. During this time the Farr International, under the leadership of Geoff Stagg, became more focused on several successful offshore one-design classes as well as a reputation for unparalleled class management. When Geoff approached his fellow shareholders in Farr International to purchase the company and rename it Stagg Yachts, Bruce Farr and Russ Bowler and the shareholders of FYD saw this as an opportunity to evaluate their needs in a support company.

Patrick Shaughnessy, Vice President of Farr Yacht Design added, “By closely integrating Farr Yacht Sales with the design office we are able to offer informed technical support to those contemplating the purchase of a yacht or sale of their existing yacht”.
Bill O’Malley, a long time member of the performance sailing industry will be heading up Farr Yacht Sales. “Bill brings 22 years of race boat experience as a leading member of sail making teams”, said Russ Bowler, President of Farr Yacht Design. “Bill will be a valuable asset to our operation and helpful adviser to clients participating in the sport.”

Who is Farr Yacht Sales?
Bill O'Malley is a recent addition, joining on with Farr Yacht Sales in 2005 to manage the new brokerage office. Bill’s main responsibilities include developing a first rate brokerage facility to market new and used boats for our clients as well as developing new listings and clientele. Additionally, Bill will represent Farr Yacht Design at select regattas and marine industry events enabling him to interact with other marine industry professionals in an effort to develop a worldwide network of representatives to expand our brokerage activities.
Prior to joining Farr Yacht Sales Bill worked in the sail-making industry for twenty-two years. Starting in the 1980’s with the advent of computer design & cutting and exotics materials, Bill worked through production within Moorhouse Sailmakers and Haarstick Sails learning all aspects of the sail-making process. The past eleven years Bill worked with Quantum Sail Design Group where he migrated into sales and served as Sail Coordinator on many projects.
As a compliment to his brokerage duties, Bill sails professionally serving as a sail trimmer and tactician actively racing in many buoy-racing and offshore events. Having raced on a broad spectrum of boats from J/22’s to Maxi-Yachts, Bill interests are equally satisfied between racing on offshore One-Design classes, IMS / IRC and ocean racing.
