Comparing Yacht Broker AssociationsNorthwest Marine Trade Association The NMTA is the oldest and largest regional boating trade organization in the nation representing the interests of approximately 850 member companies. The Association promotes high professional standards and sound business practices with respect to all business conducted with the public, customers, associates, peers, employees and other Association members, in good faith, honestly and fairly. The NMTA is the only Puget Sound association that is represented equally by all marine industry businesses. Northwest Yacht Brokers Association NYBA is the only northwest association “solely dedicated” to the interest of yacht brokers and dealers. NYBA supplies up-to-date tax information and standardized broker forms, promotes and manages boat shows, works with Olympia in regards to state sales tax codes and other issues in the "sole interest" of yacht brokers and offers "non-binding" mediation to settle grievances between brokers or between brokers and clients. Yacht Brokers Association of America YBAA was founded in 1920 and exists to unite yacht brokers throughout North America and establishes, promotes and enforces high standards of professional competence and ethical conduct. YBAA member brokerage firms and their brokers, agree to fully comply with the YBAA Code of Ethics & Business Practices, as a condition of membership and in furtherance of their commitment to maintain the highest industry professional standards.
