Owners:

Diana & Marty Rosansky

Hometown & Homeport:

Sarasota, Florida & Little Harbor, Maine

Occupation:

Diana - Science Teacher

Marty - an engineer by training, Marty was involved in the manufacturing of lithium batteries for many years and now enjoys working with his consulting company, "Technical Consultants."

Vessels Purchased from DiMillo’s:

Sabre 47 Aft Cabin Motoryacht, Jeremiah

Sabre 52 Hardtop Salon Express, blue heaven

Boat name and why?

Diana and Marty decided to name their Sabre 52, blue heaven becasue it is the perfect decription of this boat as well as the name of one of their favorite restaurants in Key West.

Typical Cruising Destinations:

The Rosansky's cruises are too numerous to mention, but mostly they enjoy cruising around Penobscot Bay and environs. In addition to the Maine coast, Diana and Marty enjoy cruising on the Florida Gulf Coast from Key West to Clearwater. Some of their all time favorite destinations include Southwest Harbor on Mt. Desert Island, Maine & Key West, Florida.

Best Cruising Experience:

One of the most exciting experiences, for Diana and Marty, occurred while crossing the Bay of Fundy in Canada. They found themselves surrounded by a very large school of pilot whales and had the opportunity to stop the boat and take hundreds of pictures while the whales and their pups dined on squid.

Scariest Cruising Experience:

When talking about the Rosansky’s scariest cruising experience it’s really a matter of whether you are asking Diana or Marty!

Diana says, "The crossing from Florida to West End in the Bahamas in windy rough weather, even though the Sabre 47 handled it very well."

Marty is not quite sure as to what his scariest experience was.

Most Confidence Inspiring Moment:

For those who routinely cruise in Maine, they know that fog is a way of life. When the Rosansky’s plan to depart a harbor they usually do so whether or not it is foggy. Although Diana and Marty are conservative and cautious boaters, they feel relatively comfortable relying on both their radar and chart plotter. Needless to say there is always a slight bit of apprehension that normally disappears once they are underway.

Last year, during a cruise to Nova Scotia, they left their home on West Penobscot Bay in a thick fog bank and arrived in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, 8 hours later without a single break in the fog. Later that trip, it was comforting when they safely navigated into a lovely harbor of refuge on Cape Sable Island (also in pea-soup fog).

Experience with DiMillo’s:

Diana and Marty have been boaters for many years. Originally sailors, they purchased their first power boat, an aft cabin Sabre 36’, in the 90’s. In 2003, they purchased Jeremiah (a Sabre 47 aft cabin motoryacht) from DiMillo’s. This was followed by their purchase of the Sabre 52 Salon Hardtop Express, blue heaven, also from DiMillo’s.

Needless to say, both Diana and Marty enjoy a warm relationship, not only with the staff at DiMillo’s, but also with the people at Sabre Yachts. They are big fans of Sabre Yachts, whose employees appear to feel like one big family. They would like to thank Brenda Collins (Sabre Yachts National Sales Manager) for all of her help.

The Rosansky’s believe that Chris DiMillo’s success with DiMillo’s Yacht Sales can probably be attributed to his focus on customer service. They also consider themselves fortunate to have worked with Peter Ouellette for the purchase of both the 47’ and 52’ Sabre Yachts. Peter’s attributes include his enthusiasm, perseverance, diligence and responsiveness (Peter, now is the time to ask Chris for a raise!). Diana and Marty advise that if you’re in need of help at DiMillo’s just speak to Hilary whose cheerful demeanor, smiles and good words make her a pleasure to work with.

The team at DiMillo's Yacht Sales would like to thank Diana and Marty for their support and loyalty!
