Why 'Not For Sale in US Waters'?
Any foreign flagged vessel lying in U.S. Waters must be imported on a 'consumption entry' prior to being sold to a U.S. Citizen. This process is handled by the seller, the yacht brokerage and a customs broker. It is inconsequential to any buyer as this process does not add any fees or duties for the buyer. It is simply a paperwork and inspection process that must be completed before the vessel can be sold to a U.S. Citizen.
