Boaters in the Pacific Northwest enjoy the finest cruising grounds in the world, Vancouver Island provides protection to thousands of miles of shoreline along British Columbia's West Coast. These waters abound with inlets, passages and islands to discover and explore. Always offering something new, even to the most experienced northwester, the choices seem endless to the uninitiated. We have two one week itineraries on our web site that have been written to help you plan your vacation.
BRITISH COLUMBIA'S MARINE PARKS
Numerous marine parks have been established over the years and nearly 40 of them are located within our cruising area. Designed with the boating public in mind these parks usually have facilities such as safe all weather anchorages and mooring bouys while still preserving the natural beauty that has made this area world famous.
LOCAL CLIMATE
The Pacific Northwest enjoys extended cruising days (up to 17 hours of daylight)during our high season months. Temperatures average in the 21C - 25C (72F - 78F) range with minimal rain fall. Fog is not normally encountered during June through September but may be experienced occasionally during the off season.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Charterers must have practical experience handling a vessel of similar size and a good general knowledge of navigation and seamanship. If you are lacking in either of these areas an instructor can be provided for $200/day.
