After moving to Oriental, NC in 1979 Bob Deaton, a native of North Carolina, saw the need for a full service boat yard for the locals as well as the Intra Coastal Waterway traffic coming through this small harbor town. Soon after, Bob's father Ralph and his brother John joined the business. Together, as a team, they have developed a first class boatyard. Deaton's also offers sail boats and power boats for sale in the yacht brokerage.

Through the past 25 years we have grown and adapted to the changing needs of our customers. Our focus has been geared toward improvement of our facility and service to our customers. Over all these years we have learned a lot about the day to day operation of a boatyard. We realized the importance of having a professional staff and immaculately maintained facilities. We are very fortunate to have a staff of many excellent employees. And we have acquired all the necessary tools and equipment to properly repair your boat correctly and efficiently.
