During the 2001 symposium on the effects of cold weather on the friction characteristics of longitudinal composite structures in motion on crystalline surfaces, members of Custom Offshore and North Sails Chesapeake put in serious work and research on the issues at hand. Here the group stops to compare notes at 11,500ft. Our devotion to the cause will continue next year when we undertake further studies.
And continue it did.... but of course, who would know it from this 2 ancient shot, so.....

The 2003 Symposium group stops for a photo op at the top of Sunshine, or Sugarloaf, or who knows where. The sun was out, the air was thin, and we were all giddy enjoying a great bluebird-sky day at Alta.

Lunchtime!
A few days of spring skiing is the just ticket to help you get psyched for the sailing season just around the corner. Our numbers look to be growing for the 2004 event so stay tuned for info on the 2004 gathering.

So here’s the 2008 group, or at least most of it. Thanks to John for playing photog at this stop. You can’t tell easily from this shot but our entire group spent the whole day together in thigh deep fluff. Pretty incredible for a group ranging from a pair of 12 year olds up through….. well, let’s just say a good bit older than that. Must be something about the lack of fear – or perhaps their closeness to the ground. But the kids were game on through the trees and down the bowls.

… and here they are after one of those runs. These conditions and these runs were a lot more work than cruising the groomers.
I cannot imagine how 2009 will possibly top this. But you can be darn sure we'll try.
