We are pleased to announce that Cannell, Payne & Page has been acquired by Yachting Solutions of Rockport, Maine. Jim Payne, Diane Kirkman, and I will continue to work for the firm in the same manner as before. Our offices will move from the American Boathouse, our home for almost thirty years, to a new space overlooking Camden Harbor, next door to the Camden Yacht Club.

Cannell, Payne & Page began in 1979 as the yacht brokerage of William Cannell Boatbuilding. Jim Payne joined Bill Cannell 1983, and in 1987 they bought Page Marine Services and formed Cannell, Payne & Page, which today is the oldest firm in the country--perhaps in the world--specializing in classic and wooden yachts. Cannell, Payne & Page has been a foremost expert in wooden and classic yachts, but our business has not been confined to wooden boats; we are also known for selling all models of traditional yachts, in all materials, as well as more modern vessels. We have sold everything from small dinghies to modern 200' Feadship motoryachts.

We are especially pleased that Bill Morong and his Yachting Solutions firm have acquired Cannell, Payne & Page. I have known Bill since he was in high school and working around Camden Harbor, and even then I was impressed by his passion for boats and his precise approach to their care. Bill's career has seen a tremendous amount of refit and restoration work and myriad other types of yacht-related work, including captaining many large motoryachts. Yachting Solutions now has a modern 15,000-square-foot storage and repair facility in Rockport, Maine. Half the facility's space is designed with dirt floors and humidity control for the special storage needs of wooden yachts. Yachting Solutions also has dock space in Camden on the American Boathouse dock at the head of the harbor and the Harborside West dock. In Rockland, Yachting Solutions has opened a new marina with berths for fifty yachts.

In addition to its new venture into yacht brokerage, Yachting Solutions restores, repairs, and maintains all types of yachts. At the moment, they are restoring an 80' classic commuter yacht and a Trumpy motoryacht. Besides restoration, repair, maintenance, and storage, Yachting Solutions also provides crew management and all varieties of yacht services and is a dealer for the excellent Hunt Yachts.

Both longtime and recent Cannell, Payne & Page clients can expect that its acquisition by Yachting Solutions will bring only improvement in our ability to counsel you on all the details of yacht ownership and to help you find the proper yacht or sell your old one.
