Model History
Sea Ray has been producing boats since the 1960's. Originally a small family owned company, Sea Ray was sold in 1986 to Brunswick and has became one of the largest boat manufacturers in the world. Sea Ray has been producing a 240 Sundancer model for more than 14 years with each successive model being more refined and better finished than the last. This current offering was introduced in late 2006 and continues to be one of their most popular models.
Construction
Sea Ray Boats are of a conventional construction built with polyester resin and E-glass fiberglass cloth and mat. The hull is a solid fiberglass laminate layup above and below the waterline. The hull is reinforced with a marine plywood stringer system encapsulated in fiberglass. The deck is also a fiberglass laminate with coring used to stiffen the fore deck and cockpit sole. The hull to deck joint is a "shoe box" style that is chemically and mechanically fastened together. The exterior finish is in a premium grade gel coat.
Vessel Walk Thru
Entering the cockpit from the swim platform via the transom door, a molded-in bench seat is across the stern, which raises to access the engine. Forward on starboard is a wet bar with SS sink and a small storage beneath. Across on port is a molded seating area with two seats in a v-shape that face to port. Forward of the wet bar is the helm with single helm seat. The bow is accessed via the walk-thru windshield and the molded steps on the cabin companionway sliding door. The cabin is entered on centerline and down two steps. Aft and under the helm deck area is a large queen size berth with privacy curtain. Forward to port is a compact galley unit while opposite on starboard is the enclosed head. A U-shaped dinette is in the bow which converts into a nice size double berth. Storage is plentiful beneath the dinette seating.

Broker Comments
This late model 240 Sundancer is truly in like-new condition. She is stored in a covered dry stack and shows no sun damage. The 240 DA is the perfect pocket cruiser with 6'2" plus headroom in the main cabin and overnight accommodations for 4. On deck, her cockpit arrangement is well thought out and features seating for up to 6. Water access is a breeze via the walk-thru transom door and molded-in swim platform. The engine space is accessed thru the hinged aft deck seating area and affords outstanding serviceability of the mechanical systems. The exterior gel coat is white in the deck/cockpit areas and the hull sides are taupe. The bottom paint is a bronze black and is in excellent condition. All and all, a handsome and well maintained boat in "turn-key" condition. At tens of thousands of dollars less than a new boat, this boat is a super value.
