Walk-Through/Accommodations
As you enter the wheel area, you’ll feel like you’re on watch aboard a large, capable sailing vessel. This ‘watch area’ is fully enclosed with all instrumentation and a flat-screen TV in full sight. A staircase leads down into the salon, a beautifully appointed area for dining and luxurious relaxation equipped with another flat-screen TV. The salon will easily accommodate a crew of two or ten.
Aft and to port is a full seagoing galley with reefer and freezer. Further aft is the work area with vice, built-in cabinets for all your hardware and spools of wire – a veritable store afloat!
Continuing aft to the master stateroom with an en suite head - again, more storage than you’d see in many condos. Forward and starboard to the crew berth and pipe berth right of the nav area. Layouts don’t get much better than this!
Forward of the salon are other guest/crew quarters with head, ample storage and another flat-screen TV. Again forward is a sail/line locker as large as a sailing dinghy.
This boat will truly take you anywhere you want to go. Just bring your shorts, flip-flops and toothbrush!

Under the stairway between the galley and the nav station is the electrical room with ample space for the four Rolls deep-cycle batteries that make up the house bank as well as the Rolls 8D isolated starter battery. The autopilot brains and pumps are located in this area along with the Xantrex controls. The boat was rewired from scratch by RJ Marine (who wired the Irving Johnson). The 110V controls run to a panel near the galley and all the 12V controls run to a panel just inside the companionway. Around the 110V panel is the generator panel and control panels for the watermakers. The 50-amp 110V service is wired to be hooked up at either the bow or stern.

Sails and Rigging
The NEW headsails are from North Sails and are controlled with the original 15-year-old Harken furling system which still works well. The NEW Quantum main and mizzen are on Forespar Leisurefurl in-boom furling systems which provide perfect sail shape at any reef point. All sails are raised, lowered and reefed from the cockpit via Andersen electric #58 secondary winches. The main and mizzen sheets run through Garhauer travelers; the one on the main is the NEW non-fouling traveler. Both control lines lead out the port side for ease of handling with Spinlok snap locks. All winches are Andersen self-tailing winches, with #68 primaries, electric #58 secondaries and sail hoisting, and assorted mast and deck mounts as well.

Engine and Mechanical
Amidship aft of the electrical room is the engine room. This is totally sound insulated, and is home to the Perkins 135-hp normally-aspirated diesel and the BorgWarner Velvet Drive transmission. It also houses the HRO System 10 120V watermaker system, and the Spectra 12V Catalina watermaker; one for use when the generator is running, the other for use when motoring.
Also in the engine room is the KTI Filter Boss system and the Transfer Boss, two monitored units that transfer and polish the fuel, either between tanks or from tank to engine. They both have pressure gauges and alarms, so if a filter clogs you can switch to a clean one and keep the engine running. Just behind the engine room and under the large hanging closet amidship is the generator room housing the Fischer Panda 8-kW generator, with a 1-gallon/day gravity-feed tank above it.
On the port side, opposite the engine and generator rooms, is the workroom. This was originally dual berths similar to the crew cabin which serves as storage for spares and tools. It has a 3-inch-thick mahogany bench with storage underneath and above, with numerous drawers and storage areas as well as an assortment of nuts, bolts, screws and washers. The workroom is also home to the icemaker (below the workbench), as well as the coffeemaker for those night watches.
