The O’Day 280 was a redesign of the very popular 272. The same hull and sail plan was used but the interior layout and deck were completely new. The modern open floor plan makes her feel much larger and more spacious than the 272 or 27. She is equipped with wheel steering and a recently rebuilt inboard Diesel. Great boat for beginners or small families. Can be easily handled by 2 or single-handed. All lines led to cockpit.

Shoal draft with wing keel. Engine is 12 HP Westerbeke diesel completely rebuilt in 2003 and professionally maintained since. North Main and 130% Genoa Sails new in 2002 plus original sails. New navy blue canvas sail and wheel cover in 2003. Roller furling. Edson wheel Steering with compass. 2 Self Tailing Primary Winches. One cabin top winch with rope clutch for halyards and main sheet. Cabin top traveler. Recent Standard Horizon Marine VHF. Hot and cold pressure water with water heater new in 2004. Certified for new Rhode Island zero discharge law until 2011.
