If you are looking to escape in complete luxury, look no further than Tigers Eye, an exceptional 4 stateroom 2008 Hargrave 98 Skylounge motor yacht.  Designed specifically with you in mind, she offers every amenity of a yacht twice her size.  Her three deck design includes: the upper deck, with sky lounge helm station, large outdoor entertainment area with sun deck and Jacuzzi; main deck with full beam salon, dining area, country kitchen; and lower deck with four cabins - luxurious master, VIP, two twins (one converts to double) and two separate crew cabins forward.

Tigers Eye is a great example of the Italian inspired Hargrave Capri series.  Her smooth lines and contemporary styling produce an inherently European look with the benefit of the impressive design features common to the Hargrave line.  The expansive salon and large galley with dinette make for a family friendly vessel, and four guest cabins, two crew cabins, spacious aft deck and sundeck make her a great candidate for charter.  All 6 cabins have ensuite heads with stall showers.  There are additional day heads on the main deck, sky lounge and swim/work room accessed from the swim platform.

THE ABBY IS IN A CLASS OF HER OWN – Kiwi designed and South African built, she’s a race horse of a boat with comfortable handling and good looks! The symmetry and lines that shape the hull scream performance yet the accommodations, deck plan, and exquisite craftsmanship and styling have the hallmarks and creature comforts of a cruising yacht. A blend very rarely done right! Her build quality and finish is exceptional and will impress even the most discerning sailor.

THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY! $475,000 WORTH OF RECENT IMPROVEMENTS – The Abby is a boat we are very excited to be offering for sale, she’s been sailed by prideful owners since new and the level of care she’s received is unequivocal. The owner has invested over $475,000 into The Abby in just the past three years. All invoices and a full list of improvements are available for the serious buyer. The plan was to sail the world for the next decade but a change in plans have resulted in the sale of this ready to go blue water cruiser. Nothing has been left to compromise and only the best has been installed.

PURPOSELY BUILT AND SERIOUSLY EQUIPPED for offshore blue water sailing. The center cockpit sits low in the boat and is well protected with the substantially built, solid fiberglass doghouse style dodger. Sails are easily managed with all lines led aft to the cockpit, electric winches, and the addition of the new Leisure Furl in-boom furling main and electric furling genoa. When necessary, movement to the foredeck is uncluttered and unobstructed with wide side decks and high stanchions. The Abby is equipped for extended and self-sufficient cruising. Solar and wind provide auxiliary power when the brand new Northern Lights generator is not in use.

While on deck there is not an inch of teak in sight, but step down the companionway and you’ll be welcomed to a warm, bright, and spacious interior with some of the finest teak joinery and craftsmanship available. The deck salon has a modern and clean look, cabinets are flush fitting, the inlaid teak trim matches perfectly with the teak and holly cabin sole, and it’s evident that beautify was just as important as form and function in her design. The layout is ideal with two forward guest cabins with shared head, a desirable passageway galley with all new amenities, and a gorgeous aft stateroom with centerline queen and ensuite head. A unique and highly desirable space on this boat is the converted fourth cabin which the owner has made into a very clever workshop complete with tool storage, custom cabinetry, and access to the ships machinery.

This is not a boat built to be confined to coastal waters or kept idle at the marina, The Abby is a boat set up and equipped to take her next owners to limitless destinations – fast – comfortably – and with minimal hassle! And with nearly half a million dollars put into her over the past three years in all of the right places, you simply won’t find a boat with more improvements, better equipment, and as capable as The Abby. We simply cannot say enough about this boat, she’s just arrived here in Fort Lauderdale and is not expected to be staying long before someone who knows that they are looking at moves in and sails her away!

Back in the 1980’s and early 90s, New England built the world’s finest sailing yachts. No where else on our planet matched the skill and the talent to build these incredible sailing yachts that only rivaled the yachts coming out of Scandinavia, the UK and the Netherlands. The formula was easy, Newport, the NY Yacht Club, money, the America’s Cup, and a very talented work force that had generations of sea bearing commitment and history.

Names like Alden, Shannon, Cape Dory, Little Harbor, Hinckley, and of course, Bristol.  The Yacht Designers that all started around Newport, were Chuck Paine, Bob Perry, Ted Hood, Bruce King, Ted Fontaine, and Deiter Empachter; just to name a few. Then it’s the support industries; if sails, woodworkers, and the folks that just knew how to build a good beautiful boat.

Those were the days my friends.

The Bristol 51.1 center cockpit is a certainly a beautiful classic yacht with lovely graceful lines and powerful high bow equal to the most beautiful yachts ever built. The Bristol 51.1 is sought after for her brilliant interior layout providing three private cabins fore and aft with a two separate heads. The sailing performance is excellent and the sloop rig powerful. The sail plan with in-mast furling Stoaway mainsail and Harken furling genoa so easily managed that the boat can be single-handed or comfortably sailed by a couple. The bow thruster is good insurance around the dock for any fifty foot yacht. The keel centerboard design provides for great cruising in the Bahamas and East Coast. With the board up the draft is only 5 foot 4 inches enabling you to get into all the creeks on the Chesapeake and sail all over the Bahamas. With the centerboard down (10 foot draft) you have the windward performance you long for. And a yacht she is!

A classic Dieter Empacher design gives you a  heavy displacement for comfortable motion  and security with the sail area to give her exciting performance. She is built by one of the finest boat builders that made American yacht building famous for the most beautiful and luxurious vessels to grace the seas. She is a built extremely well the way boats are supposed to be built of solid fiberglass, real wood, with real mahogany furniture tabbed to the hull sides. The joinery is of the highest quality far above anything you see today, but when you see it, you know it is Bristol Yacht quality!

Especially our lovely Bristol “Brian Boru” for she is no ordinary Bristol 51.1. She has served her family very well for over 15 years cruising the East Coast and Bahamas extensively. Brian Boru has served her family well. She has in turn received treatment that only the finest and most loved vessels get. Over the past few years, Brian Boru has received consistent maintenance to keep everything up the snuff.

Here are the highlights of recent upgrades:

  • New Fuel tanks in 2013
  • New thru hull fittings 2011
  • New Awlgrip paint job 2018
  • New batteries 2018
  • New Sails - Mainsail 2010 and Genoa in 2009
  • New Simrad Chart Plotter 2014
  • Masts and booms pulled inspected sanded and Awlgripped 2007
  • Rigging inspection and upgrades 2015
  • New Dodger, Bimini and canvas 2016
  • New Apex dinghy and outboard
  • New AC Units (one of two) 2017
  • And so many amenities including
  • New Custom mattresses
  • Titled bathrooms and showers

Brian Boru is in Annapolis! Full specifications and more pictures are coming soon, we urge you not to wait. She is one of those really special vessels and it is evident immediately. You will not be disappointed in any way. And her owner wants her sold now!

Bristol 51: Review by Bob Perry.

The Bristol 51 is a commodious, conservative centerboard cruiser...

By Bob Perry (Our very good friend. This Listing Broker has had the pleasure of personally owning three Bob Perry designed boats, so I do trust his judgement/skill/and talent).

From September 26, 2000, Sailing Magazine.

Bristol Yachts has had a long relationship with Dieter Empacher as its lead designer. Together they have established a consistent line of conservative cruising yachts that are both fast and handsome. I always think of Dieter's designs as very East Coast.

Let's begin with the profile and sailplan. The deck lines are clean and unaffected. The result is very yachtlike and not in the least Euro. There is a strong sweep to the sheerline, kicking up about station 5.5 and emphasizing the handsome rake to the bow. The ample freeboard indicates that the designer is working at maximizing the usable interior volume. We all like low freeboard, but the designer must balance the visual effect of freeboard against the positive aspects of increased usable volume that one has below.

The Bristol 51 is rigged as a sloop with plenty of room in the foretriangle (J=21.5) for you to put in an optional staysail if you like. The mast is supported with single spreaders and fore and aft lowers. The sail area-to-displacement ratio is a conservative 15.73. This rig could be handled by a skilled owner with no help. If the rig were any taller, sailhandling could become a chore for the singlehanded sailer. The designer must balance the quest for power against the knowledge of just how the boat will be used and the style in which the typical owner will use it. One of my own most popular designs has a SA/D ratio of around 15. You must always look at the overall picture.

Accommodation targets for production yachts don't vary too much. The Bristol 51 is typical in this area of many yachts between 47 and 60 feet. There is an owner's stateroom aft, a stateroom forward, a crew stateroom and two heads, both with shower stalls. The Bristol 51 also has a lazarette. The galley is big with plenty of refrigerator and freezer space. Both heads are also big with bigger than adequate shower stalls. The aft double berth is arranged so that you can climb in from the sides. This arrangement seems to be nicely exploded. That's probably because I have been scratching my head trying to get the same layout into a 45-footer lately. By exploded I mean that there are very few compromised areas and no feeling at all of squashing in interior components.

The hull form is pure Empacher with steep deadrise, moderate BWL and a pronounced bustle aft. The keel is a shoal fin with centerboard. The rudder is partially balanced and hung on a half skeg. Note the rake forward at the top of the trailing edge. I would guess that this is all cosmetic, but it could have the effect of reduced interference drag. The shaft is absolutely horizontal and this is made possible by the volume aft added by the deep bustle. The high deadrise sections also aid in getting the engine in low. The 51.1 has a D/L ratio of 263.

Bristol is building the 51 with a solid laminate hull and a balsa cored deck. There is tankage for 250 gallons of water and 218 gallons of fuel. Now excuse me while I go below and put the leg of lamb in the oven, slip the newest Dwight Yoakam disc in the CD player and go looking for that last bottle of 1974 Eyrie Pinot Noir.

MAJOR $100,000 PRICE REDUCTION.

COME SEE THIS AMAZING TURN KEY GO NOW WORLD VOYAGER AT ANNAPOLIS FALL BOATSHOW.

The Apogee 50 designed by Chuck Paine and built by Able Marine is among our ultimate favorite sailing vessels for a couple to sail anywhere. She was designed to be easily sailed by a couple and good for a solo voyager to sail single-handed. Apogee 50’s have circumnavigated the globe, rounded the Horn, and chalked up numerous ocean crossings.

The Apogee is sleek and fast with an easily driven hull shape. Her long waterline of 45 plus feet and her powerful sail plan spells speed and comfort. With her lead ballast keel weighing in at 11,400 lbs, a carbon fiber mast and roller furling boom she has remarkable stability and momentum. She sails to weather exceedingly well and with the wind on the quarter she screams. This modern hull design, combined  with the easily managed sail plan, makes this boat very special. Everything about the Apogee is designed with purpose and function as the foremost consideration. The hard dodger is incredible because you are out of the weather. The large area under the dodger is essentially another nav station as you can have all your equipment right there. It is so comfortable, so safe, and so secure,  enabling you to sail relaxed, warm, and dry under a wide range of conditions.  With two step down levels under the dodger, you can stand up completely in the companionway and have total visibility. With the autopilot remote you can steer from this secure vantage point. This vessel is designed for comfort and security both outside and inside.

Just two additional steps from the cockpit to the galley, head, and nav station make it easy to transit between the cockpit and cabin level and to communicate between areas. While the Apogee is first and foremost an amazing sailing vessel, she is also a lovely yacht down below that is a wonderful home for a couple and occasional guests. The quality is evident everywhere you look. From the teak and holly sole to the sweet cherry joinery the interior is perfection. She is light and bright and warm and solid. The Apogee is as delightful at anchor or at the dock as she is romping the ocean. Although technically you could sleep six , there is no reason you would want to because she is so easy for two people to sail.

And sail they did! Since taking delivery in the spring of 1997 the owners of Aponivi have enjoyed living aboard for extended periods and  have made two trans-Atlantic  crossings as well as north-south voyages between Martinique and Maine. The first trans-Atlantic voyage took them to Portugal via Bermuda and the Azores and then into the Med to enjoy the south coast of Spain, Ibiza, and Mallorca. They shipped the boat back on a Dockwise yacht transport. The second trans-Atlantic voyage took them back to England to hang out in Falmouth and enjoy the Channel coast of England and the South Coast of Ireland and later on to Wales and Scotland and ultimately back to the Med for more of the Spanish Coast and Balearic Islands. After another westward Dockwise transPort to Martinique they lingered to enjoy the Caribbean and then the Virgins, Turks and Caicos and Bahamas before rejoining the US coast and sailing onward to a new base at Mystic Connecticut. They loved the boat and they loved being aboard and so continued to cruise in summers in Maine and Cape Cod and all the beautiful “local” cruising grounds. It has been a wonderful retirement for the owners who have loved and enjoyed their Able Apogee 50. After about 20 years of enjoying and meticulously maintaining the boat the time  has come for them to do other things and for someone new to enjoy Aponivi. Someone who is very lucky will get to own a great boat!

Merdeka is a 1999 Celestial 50 Pilothouse, cutter rig, designed by Bryce Fuhriman. Celestial yachts are well known for their stout off-shore minded construction. Above decks is a nicely placed center cockpit with a commanding view in all directions. The high cockpit bulwarks lend to a dry and safe position to take the helm. High lifelines and roomy side-decks allow easy movement forward and aft. There is ample storage in the aft lazarettes and in the forward lockers.
Below deck entry is gained from the cockpit or the starboard pilothouse door. The raised salon with large picture windows allows for uncompromising views as the world goes by. The interior helm is nicely positioned and has great visibility, something that many pilothouse yachts lack. Lovely quality of rich woods adorn the interior.
Forward of the salon is the galley to port and four person dinette to starboard. The galley is spacious and arranged perfectly for all your gourmet cooking needs. Continuing forward is the day/guest head and forward guest V-berth.
Going aft, down the stairs from the salon, is the aft cabin. This cabin is quite large and includes tons of storage space. The attached head includes a soaking tub.
Mechanical access is easy due to the large hatches in the salon deck. Gear is easy to service and there is extra storage there as well. A true offshore boat, she is equipped with a sea-chest with twin redundant inlets. This limits the amount of below waterline penetrations to only a few.
Merdeka has travelled near and far. She has been in Northern Europe, several Trans-Atlantic's, and throughout the US East Coast. She is well poised and priced to continue her journeys. You will not find a better deal for a yacht with the breadth of gear and space that Merdeka offers. Contact the central listing agent today to schedule your private showing.

LOLA is a beautiful 50-foot schooner designed by Frans Maas and built in Nice, France in 1989, with Sparkman & Stephens inspired lines.  Built of solid fiberglass nearly an inch thick below the waterline, she is a proven offshore passage maker. Her present owners sailed the Mediterranean for several years before crossing to the Caribbean and finally settling in the San Blas Islands of Panama. Fully equipped and ready to sail, this semi-full keel vessel is a steady and seaworthy cruiser priced to sell.

Making Ocean passages is what this boat does best.  It’s comfortable, well laid out and easy to handle for a boat of this size. FASCINATION has just returned from the owners last cruise and is ready for her next adventure.  She has received special attention recently having her topsides and deck painted making her shine.  Her varnish is freshly done and all hatches have covers giving this boat that complete look missing in so many used boats.  The interior is in excellent condition with three AC units, very low hours on the generator and a new Yanmar engine installed in 2005. If you are looking for a good cruising boat you owe it to yourself to inspect FASCINATION.

MAJOR Price Reduction!!

In Annapolis......Ready to Sail Around the World Today AGAIN!!!TURN-KEY READY........Great News for you!

Miss Red has new sails, new hull paint, perfectly faired bottom, new running rigging, new canvas, full new electronics, new batteries, new everything.

The famous Valiant 50 that was the cover girl of the Valiant 50 Brochure is offered for sale! She was the red one, launched in 2001, commissioned and rigged for a circumnavigation by her first owners, a serious sailing couple. She was outfitted with a wonderful Leisurefurl in-boom furling system and is upgraded with new Navtec rod rigging and a new suite of sails. Her bottom was sand blasted to baby smooth with new barrier coat and new bottom paint. She has been lightly used for the past six years and constantly maintained and upgraded.

The Leisurefurl in boom furling system and a dozen other advantages to make sailing easy and safe. In 2009, she received the award from Valiant Yachts for being the first to circumnavigate on a Valiant 50! She was restored to perfect condition by her first owner with a new paint job that is stunning. Her second owner is rightfully so proud of Miss Red, as she is called. He has loved and upgraded her with new rod rigging, new electronics, new sails and storm sails as well as all the safety gear.

For the first few years, Miss Red, cruised New England in the summer roaming from Annapolis to Newport to Block Island and Nantucket and all the lovely spots. In 2014 she and her captain and crew were getting ready for the Newport to Bermuda Race! This was the really big adventure and in preparation, Miss Red received the royal treatment and lavish expense account. She easily passed the rigorous safety inspection required for entry. She made a good passage and was definitely noticed! After a double hand return to the shore of Massachusetts in early June, 2015, she made the trip to Nova Scotia! It’s true what they say…the fog is mostly off the coast! Miss Red enjoyed the whole summer up there. The sail back was exciting with 25 knot winds in fog with 40 degree weather. Miss Red performed flawlessly and everything worked from the new B&G navigation system to the mechanicals. She was flawless.  In 2016, Miss Red again made the trip to Bermuda, completing the journey in four days with winds of every variety from storm force to the infamous light and variable “Bermuda High”. Miss Red sailed beautifully through it all and we are not surprised!  Miss Red sailed from Bermuda to Charleston, SC, where she is presently lives.

Where ever she goes, Miss Red is noticed! They call her Big Red! Up in Nova Scotia at the NS Royal Yacht Squadron, she drew crowds both on and off the water. In Bermuda, many crew from other boats and even staff from the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club came to visit and “take a look”. Just look at the pictures. She is amazingly spectacular!

We especially love this Valiant 50 because she has served both her owners so very well. This is a rare opportunity to own a famous Valiant 50 that is absolutely proven. She circumnavigated with hardly a hiccup while other cruisers suffered failures and breakdowns. I guess this is why Valiant is the choice for solo sailors and for live aboard cruising couples. It is because safety and dependability are the foremost reasons that couples choose Valiant. It’s quality! Valiant construction is second to none! This is one of the strongest boats you could possible own. The equipment installation is superior and maintainable anywhere in the world. It’s Performance! The Valiant 50’s speed and sailing characteristics in all conditions are proven beyond doubt. The Valiant 50 is a magnificent powerful sailing vessel that faster and more comfortably than its sailing companions including many other high caliber vessels. It’s proven! This proven design and hull shape with its classic Bob Perry cruising fin keel and skeg hung rudder has proved a well mannered race horse. She tracks straight and true. She is easily balanced and steered by her auto pilot. In her previous life, she sailed around the world steered by the autopilot in all conditions even flying the spinnaker for days on end. Sailors on other boats had to hand steer at the least pleasant of times!

She’s easy to sail. Sailing short-handed, means one person must to feel comfortable and secure in all conditions, whether taking friends for a cruise or sailing the coast as a couple, or circumnavigating the world when two small people easily sailed the boat in all conditions without crew on any passage. Miss Red is equipped with an in-boom furling mainsail Leisurefurl system and Schaefer roller furling headsails the boat is properly rigged with an electric winch and she is extremely easy to sail.

Our offering "At Sail" is actually as good as good as a used world cruising yacht can ever get. She won't last long on the brokerage market.

This three stateroom S&S designed Hylas 49 is one of the most sought after boats for many good reasons and she is in magnificent condition with new Awlgrip topsides, deck, and cockpit and beautiful new canvas, and all new B&G electronics! Read on!

From the drawing boards of Sparkman and Stevens, the Hylas 49, Center Cockpit, three stateroom layout is a great choice for bluewater voyaging. There is a reason that this is a very sought after center cockpit, three stateroom cruiser. Sparkman & Stevens was the design team to showed every great designer how to do design all the beautiful great sailing boats. In the Hylas 49, they have created a powerful, swift, and comfortable yacht. She's a pretty boat with a sweet sheer and elongated more traditional lines that make her very recognizable. The Hylas is a refined adaptation of the famous Stevens 47 which we loved also and we're happy to see an even better boat available today.

The sailing performance of the Hylas 49 cannot be refuted. She's a great sailing boat due to the powerful hull shape, a long cruising keel and skeg rudder. The sharp entry, long fin keel, and rounded deep v shape makes her a powerful boat that carries sail and romps off the miles making 170 mile days in supreme comfort and style. Under sail, she cruises at 6.5 to 7 knots with her sailing performance maximized by her 525 sq. ft. fully battened in boom furling mainsail, 150% genoa, inboard-mounted shrouds and genoa tracks, and feathering propeller. Sail handling is easy and safe with a Furlboom in-boom mainsail furling/reefing system and Furlex jib furling. When the wind fails you, you can switch to power with the Yanmar 63hp turbo diesel, 18 inch Autoprop, and with the 145 gallons of diesel you’ll have a range of about 2000 nm.

The three stateroom interior is definitely super comfortable with the center cockpit allowing for that gorgeous aft stateroom that is so desirable for all of us baby boomers heading out there. The interior is also elegant with hand rubbed teak joinery and elegant appointments. This layout gives you three double cabins! Another reason people love this boat. The galley kitchen is huge and extends down the passageway to the owner's stateroom aft.

The Hylas Yachts (Queen Long Marine) builds a great boat. The hull is a solid fiberglass laminate and she has a watertight bulkhead forward separating the chain locker from the interior. The deck layout gives you a deep and secure center cockpit. While some prefer aft cockpits, there are just so many advantages to a center cockpit for cruising comforts. You have good visibility from the helm and the boat does not seem intimidating at all from the helm station two-thirds aft. The cockpit is large enough for a family with cockpit seat benches long enough to stretch out on. The very beautiful sugar scoop transom has wide steps and a boarding ladder.

MAJOR PRICE REDUCTION ON THIS GO NOW WORLD VOYAGER.

What could be better than a beautiful Sparkman & Stephens designed custom built yacht!

This is a terrific vessel and an amazing value. She was built by one of the finest custom builders in the US in Wilmington NC. Bennett Brothers Yachts. Each vessel is custom built to the owners’ specifications and this particular boat is a stand out yacht. Her first owners from Long Island NY commissioned her and spared no expense in her construction. They loved and cruised lightly mostly in Long Island Sound with a couple sailing adventures to Bermuda. When they were done sailing twenty years later, they completely refit the vessel to make her as beautiful as the day they launched her. The even replaced the teak and holly cabin sole and headliners as well as refinishing the Cherry interior. Every system was gone over with a fine toothed comb to make her perfect. The new Stars and Stripes Awlgrip paint job on the topsides made Escape Velocity incredibly beautiful .This is no ordinary 1992 vessel. Her owners donated her to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and eventually she was offered for sale. Her current owners where the lucky recipient and they have carried on to maintain the boat in ship shape condition.

Of course you know that any boat designed by Sparkman and Stevens will sail as beautifully as she looks. This is a performance cruiser with liveaboard comfort. The underbody is very modern with a wing fin keel and a spade rudder. The hand laid fiberglass hull and sandwich deck construction give her a  moderate displacement. The sail plan with a Furlboom mainsail system and furling headsails give her the power to move while being easily sailed by a couple. The wing keel provides great stability with  shoal draft nice in the Bahamas and other spots on the East Coast. With her 64 foot mast height she is just intercoastal capable at about 64. Mind the wind and tide, but she can do it. We like having a choice sometimes.

Escape Velocity is a luxurious the stateroom center cockpit yacht. There is plenty of space for a couple and guests or a small family. The master stateroom aft has the sought after centerline queen berth and ensuite head and stall shower. The forward cabin is large with a true V-berth and wonderful cabinetry. The salon is spacious and comfortable with a dining table for eight. The cherry interior joinery is elegant and the interior is thoughtfully finished with lovely upholstery and beddings. It is a home!  Her owners have enjoyed living aboard and light cruising in the Bahamas in the East Coast for the last four years. They have loved and cared for Escape Velocity. .

Escape Velocity is enroute to Annapolis and once more offered for sale. She is a spectacular value and completely ready for the next owner to step aboard. Escape Velocity is owned by responsible sailors and she is polished and ship shape from top to bottom.

Recent Maintenance Includes:

  • Beautiful new cockpit enclosure and hatch covers
  • Wind generator
  • Solar panels
  • Outboard lifting crane
  • Improved davit system
  • New chain! 125’ GH3/8th chain
  • Engine maintenance and going over with new engine mounts
  • New high output alternator
  • New batteries
  • New inverter charger
  • New windlass motor and servicing

This is a beautiful cruising boat that is really special. We are proud to offer her to our followers. There are not so many good boats left from this amazing era. Escape Velocity is a very special offering.

Do not miss this opportunity!

The Cherubini 48 staysail schooner designed by John Cherubini is just one of those amazing yachts that you can’t stop starring at. She is stunningly beautiful exactly as in your heart you just instinctively know that she is exactly perfect. Just like a sailing yacht should look; the Cherubini 48 is long and graceful with a beautiful shiply clipper bow sweeping back with a graceful sheer. With her low freeboard and handsome transom with derives from the original Grand Banks fishing schooners and racing schooners of the 30’s. She is built to impeccable standards to be a modern classic yacht.

Cherubini Yachts has long been recognized as a builder known for exquisite detail and uncompromising standards. She looks like a classic yacht of the 1930s, but she is built using modern materials and strong solid fiberglass construction. The hull is immensely strong with woven roving layup about a ½ inch thick at the bulwark to 1 1/2 inches thick at the keel.

The yachts are often customized by the first owner and in this can Principles, as she is called, was ordered with carbon fiber masts, and rod rigging with Schooner racing in her future! Modern construction and classic finish; Finish in the colors I might add. A principle has an impressive race record! The hand-finished teak gleams and is set off with the custom stainless steel and bronze fittings and ports. Everything is put together with the latest construction methods and materials. She is robustly built to the demands of the ocean and she is finished to flawless perfection. Below deck you are transplanted to a time when elegance was the standard to which a yacht was held. The teak wood is sumptuous and the joinery is superb. She is finished down below to the same high standards of quality with the richness of classical elegance. The layout is perfectly designed for a cruising couple with occasional guests. And also know that Cherubini Yachts is still in the family operating still after four generations!

The Schooner is a perfect cruiser for a couple and a graceful racer against all the other beautiful schooners. This Cherubini 48 Staysail Schooner has done a lot of racing with her second owner and his daughters with a well known racing captain. I understand they did very well. Her current owner previously owned a Cherubini 44 and simply fell in love with Principles the moment he saw her back in 2008. He always wanted her and in 2012 he got is opportunity and although he was then in his late seventies, having sailed all his life and owned beautiful yachts, he could not resist. He sails with his wife and has lived aboard and cruised from the Abacos to Massachusetts each year for the past five years. He even more now appreciates the layout which is perfect for a couple to sail with a crew and maintain their own privacy. He added an electric winch for the mains’l and the main stays’l so he can single hand her. Last fall he made the single hand passage down the Chesapeake Bay from Annapolis to Norfolk anchoring at night and enjoying his Schooner. He says, “…as you can tell from the impressive list of race victories that she is fast… a 200 nm day on an ocean passage is not unusual. With her sea-kindly motion she is a breeze to sail.”

She is so easy to handle with just a couple or even sail singlehanded. The hull shape is sea kindly with an easy, comfortable motion. The shoal draft Scheel keel provides perfect sailing in the Chesapeake Bay, Bahamas and even the West Coast of Florida. The tall, divided schooner rig makes for easy sail handling with two self tacking mainsails and roller furled Yankee headsail. The divided sail plan offers so many configurations that it is easy to set just the right amount of sail for everything from a lightest breeze to a gale. The schooner is easily sailed by a couple and she is the ultimate passage-maker at home on the ocean. She is heavy and safe and will heave-to sweetly with just a deeply reefed foresail. And when you sail in to any harbor all heads will turn your way to admire her stunning good looks.

Admire her, you will as she is maintained to exquisite perfection. Each year during the four or five non sailing months Principles has been indulged with all necessary maintenance and all the upgrades to the whim of the owner who loves her quite dearly. He said if he had a dollar for everyone who had admired her, he’d be a wealthy man.

Ganesh is the ultimate long range cruising yacht, built by Garcia Yachting, designed by Philippe Harle with interiors by Andre Rameau. The Passoa 47 is a centerboard boat, so she only draws a little over 3' to allow unfettered access to the tightest anchorages. She also has a daggerboard aft to improve downwind performance. Her tough aluminum hull is extra thick beneath the waterline, 10mm in thickness.
Thanks to her integral centerboard design she is able to be run up on the beach if need be, or wait out a low tide. The fixed internal ballast allows for a low center of gravity, and she is self righting. Tankage is integral with the boats structure, and also acts as a double hull incase of bottom damage from rocks or reefs.
Ganesh has successfully completed a circumnavigation, and her current (2nd) owners have taken her around both coasts of the Atlantic, from Europe, to South America, and up the US East Coast. She is only used seasonally, 3-4 months a year, and spends her off seasons on the hard. If you're looking for the ultimate in extended offshore cruising make sure to check out Ganesh.

LENA III, a world-renowned German Frers designed Nautor Swan 46, Hull #47, is a powerful cruiser/racer built in Swan's famous factory in Finland. Recents upgrades and modifications include a bulb keel modification that reduced her draft from 8'2" to 6' and renewed teak side decks in 2015. Lovely teak joinery adorns her remarkably roomy accommodations. There a generous aft cabin with a queen centerline berth and a private ensuite head, a roomy main salon with a huge teak table, and a double guest cabin and second private head forward.

If you are in the market for a powerful cruiser/racer at an affordable price, LENA III is the yacht for you.

$60,000 of 2014/15 Upgrades & Improvements

Includes: New Hull & Mast Paint, New Bow Thruster & Refinished Bottom

CARA LYNN is a very well maintained and equipped Alden 46 that was designed and built by one of New England's highest quality semi custom builders. The current and second owners of CARA LYNN have made the ongoing investment in upgrades and proper service. Her classic profile with aft cockpit is a standout wherever she cruises. This exceptionally strong, sea kindly performance cruising yacht has an exquisite two stateroom varnished teak interior and is very well equipped for extended shorthanded offshore cruising. Her shoal draft keel with centerboard allows access to many more sailing areas and harbors.

Accommodations include a very comfortable main salon, spacious galley, wide navigation center, large master suite forward with double V berth with ensuite head with separate stall shower, aft guest cabin with convertible queen, and guest/day head is conveniently located adjacent to the companionway.

Recent upgrades in 2014/2015 include the addition of a bow thruster, 2 new heads (one electric), new holding tank, bottom and keel refinished and painted and unstepping, disassembling and inspecting rigging and repainting mast. Also the hull was Awl Gripped and the hydraulic system upgraded. The approximate cost of the 2014/15 upgrades was $60,000.  Former upgrades include Seafrost holding plate refrigeration, full rudder bearing service in 2008, North MPS with sock (2006), Northstar 952 GPS plotter with cockpit repeater, new headliners throughout, and rebedded deck hatches, genoa tracks and opening ports.

For sailors looking for a beautiful, proven, high quality, semi custom, hand crafted, performance cruising design, that is fast and sea kindly, the Alden 46 Cara Lynn is worthy of a serious look. She is one of the finest 40'-50' semi custom production yachts ever built and is one of Alden's most popular designs. The cost to replace her today would be approximately $1.2 million if built by an established New England yard. Her large aft cockpit, wide side decks and foredeck make her a pleasure to sail. The sea-kindly hull and shoal draft keel design and spacious interior arrangement offers superior safety and comfort for offshore passagemaking or coastal cruising. Cara Lynn has a great equipment inventory, many upgrades and is in excellent condition ready to cruise.

46' Beneteau First Sloop

A Special Beneteau

We are pleased to offer the Beneteau First 454 “Caribe” built in 1982 when the Beneteau First series was a well regarded and stoutly built ocean cruising yacht of the times. Caribe is a Beneteau First 456 designed by German Frers, who is probably the among the very best yacht designers today who designs for Hallberg Rassy and other companies as well. Caribe was built in St. Hillaire France in 1984 and spent most of her life in the Caribbean after her prior owner sailed her there from the France. Her current owners bought her in 2002, and have enjoyed sailing all over the Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean, and Mexico, putting over 5,000 miles under her keel.

Caribe is the owner's version for the Beneteau First with two sleeping cabins, each with its own head. Both cabins sleep two in full size berths. Her main salon has a C shaped settee that makes up into a double berth. With the straight settee berth she actually sleeps seven! With head room of 6'4" she is spacious. You won't feel crowded even with a crew.

Caribe has had two great owners who maintained her very well. She has been repowered and updated with modern Raymarine electronics, all new winches and even Sirius Radio and an electric toilet. Read on. Caribe is in good shape. For the money, she’s a very good cruising boat that you can buy and just go live the dream!

The last Beneteau First like this that we sold was scooped up by an adventurous sailor from Denmark who bought her and hopped aboard and single-handed her home! The Beneteau First racer cruiser is a classic ocean racer of the 1980's and became well recognized as a single hand race boat.

You might not realize it but the Benjamin Beneteau founded the Beneteau boatyard in Croix de Vie France in the early 1900s building sailing fishing boats! His about 1964 his grandson and granddaughter started building fiberglass sailboats. The Beneteau First  design was the first really successful series of sailing boats from Beneteau. The French sailors have always been the most courageous and adventurous and completive sailors and the Beneteau First established a reputation as a seaworthy pleasure craft for racing and sailing. Within a couple years in the early 80s the Beneteau was one of the top three sailboat manufacturers They expanded into the US building boats in South Carolina.

The Beneteau First of the early eights is regarded as a solid ocean cruiser. They were well built of solid fiberglass in the days when they actually used a lot of fiberglass. The hull shape is proven with a shape entry, beautiful full belly, and tapered stern. She looks like a boat should look. She sails fast. Her fine underbody and spade rudder makes her sleek, racy and responsive. There's a reason these vessels have been sought after by ocean racers for so many years.

Sisterships have completed circumnavigations and we’ve sold more than one. The first owners of Caribe sailed to the Caribbean several times to enjoy all the Islands. Her current owners have enjoyed cruising for four years all over the eastern and western Caribbean, and the East Coast, Bermuda, the Bahamas. They’ve had a grand time.

Over the years of ownership, they have cared for the boat upgrading her with whatever she needed. She’s in good condition and she is a good cruising boat for her age. She sails great and she’s comfortable with many upgrades.

Here are the highlights:

  • Engine - Replaced Perkins 4-108 with a Beta 50 Hp. in October 2014
  • Autopilot, installed a Raymarine Evo400 in May 2017
  • Winches - all the self tailing winches (8) have been replaced with Lewmar Evo winches Primaries (2) - 65's, Secondaries (2) - 50's, halyard and control winches (4) - 43's
  • Tides Marine Strong Track, track replaced 2015
  • Fuel Tank replaced in 2013 (aluminum)
  • Air cooled Waeco (BD50F/Circulating plate) installed 2015
  •  Aft Head - Jabsco electric toilet installed 2015
  • Raymarine E90W hybrid touch chart plotter installed 2013
  • Raymarine Sirius Satellite receiver installed 2013
  • Galley Counter tops replaced with Corian 2012
  • Head counter tops replaced 2013
  • All thru hulls replaced 2013-2017 (except aft head sink)
  • Electrical panel replaced with Blue Sea 360 custom panel in 2012

So if you want to go cruising. You can go now!  Caribe will take you. She knows the way.

Full Specs and more pictures are coming very soon. She is arriving in Annapolis to get all ship shape and ready for you! Call now.

There are many reasons so many Cambria owners have kept their boats for 15, 20 or more years. Quality design and construction are the key elements. Exceptional strength and comfort are combined with manageable performance and beautiful lines. Pegasus is truly a classic yacht that has never been chartered or sailed in southern waters. Although now 31 years old, her light use offers her next owners a high quality yacht that has fewer sea miles and lower engine hours than most yachts half her age.

Since delivery Pegasus has only been sailed summers in New England waters. Maine became the preferred cruising waters and for this reason the yacht has been stored indoors most winters and maintained by Hinckley in Southwest Harbor, Wayfarer in Camden, Maine and more recently by Quality Yachts in Tiverton, RI  . Over the years her owners have continuously upgraded the equipment, systems and interior decor. Highlights of improvements include new anchor windlass, electronics, sails, diesel heater, Ultrasuede fabrics, asymmetrical spinnaker, new autopilot, GPS, solar panels, both companionway dodgers and new hull and deck paint.

Added benefits of Pegasus are her keel board design that provides a shoal draft fin keel, and rudder that is fully protected by a rugged skeg. Cambrias are most often sailed by a couple. Pegasus has also been single handed many times. The centerboard is available for added performance sailing to windward however is seldom lowered because the Cambria is good on all points of sail with the board in the raised position.

If you're in the market for a good looking, well maintained center cockpit that won't break the bank this is it! "BOHEMIAN" is a lightly used and well kept example of the Gulfstar Hirsch 45. Gulfstar built 30 of these Hirsch models for the charter market, and this one was never put into the chart fleets!
She has been lovingly cared for by her owner, who installed a new, efficient Yanmar diesel with very little hours thus far. New air conditioning just last year. Plus she has an Awlgrip navy blue topsides paint job. She lives at Haven Harbor Marina in Rock Hall, MD, and anyone who has been there, or knows their reputation, knows just how well they keep their boats.
Here is a list of recent upgrades: - Yanmar Diesel, low hours. - 2007 - Transmission Replaced - 2002 - New 16,000 Reverse Cycle A/C and Heat - 2016 - New Boom - 2011 - Quantum Full Batten Main - 2013 - Two Genoas - 2010/2006 - Cruising Spinnaker - 2007 - Simrad Autopilot - 2006 - Bimini and Dodger - 2011
This boat is a real looker with her sleek lines, navy blue hull and two-tone white/beige decks. If you're in the market for a capable center cockpit cruiser then this is it. Make an appointment to see "BOHEMIAN" today before she's gone!
Note on replacement engine. There have been many inquires as to the boat being "underpowered" with the 40HP Yanmar vs the original Perkins 4-108 50HP. This is untrue. The Yanmar puts out 40HP at 3000RPM, while the Perkins puts out 47HP at 4000RPM. At 3000RPM the Perkins develops 40HP which is the max recommended RPM, the Yanmars max recommended is 2907 RPM developing 37HP. The Yanmar also burns .5/gal less fuel per hour, weighs 50 lbs less, can get parts for, and doesn't leak oil all over the place like a Perkins. Boat performs the same as it did with the Perkins.

Shown by appointment only.

The build quality is well regarded and the atmosphere of Scandinavian elegance and simplicity is evident. The beautiful new teak decks are clean and all about function. This is a vessel designed to sail really well. The simple, functional well equipped deck with all the low friction ball bearing blocks and Harken upgrades provides for effortless sail handling and comfortable passages.

All this and reduced draft for the Chesapeake Bay and Bahamas with a keel / centerboard.  Incessant is the only centerboard Baltic 42DP in the US!  Draft with board up (raised with hydraulics) is only 6’.  Draft with board down is 9.6’

The current owner bought the Baltic 42 in 1990! It is a wonderful story to tell because owning a beautiful Baltic could have a lot to do with ocean racing and cruising. In the first years there were many wins! It is so impressive. The very first race was the Inaugural  Lighthouse Race in 1991 from Cape St. Clair down the Chesapeake Bay and around Chesapeake Light and back! Incessant won First in Class! With the maiden race accomplished, Incessant did Annapolis to Bermuda in 1992 and won! First in Class and Second in Fleet! Thrilling! From 1993 to 2008 it was Annapolis to Newport Races – finishing 2nd in class in ’95 and 3rd in class in ’99. In odd years after that it was Marblehead to Halifax Races – finishing 2nd in class in ’99 and 1st in class in ’01) and in the even years 2001 to 2008 it was Newport to Bermuda Races finishing 5th in class in 2002. That was pretty much 18 years of some fine ocean sailing! What a great boat.

In between and around the racing Incessant cruised the Chesapeake Bay from Hampton Roads to the Sassafras River, explored the Coast of Maine over 20 years from the NH border to Eastport, and had adventures sailing the Coast of Nova Scotia up into the Bay of Fundy and  Cape Brenton with short handed crew aboard. They really enjoyed cruising on a vessel with performance capability.

The owner has a sail inventory that is pretty crazy and a van was used to change the boat over from racing mode to cruising mode. He tells of many trips to Newport by van to switch the boat from racing mode to cruising mode. I guess that is what it takes to win races and also enjoy cruising with your sailing partner.

Racing or cruising, Incessant is a lovely comfortable vessel with a powerful sail plan and good motion. The two stateroom layout with a real v-berth up forward and a spacious double with a split mattress and lee cloth in the aft cabin and the two heads results in a boat with very nice accommodations.

Incessant has arrived in Annapolis where she is getting all detailed up for her next owner. She is a wonderful value and completely ready for the next owner to sail away.

This is a beautiful performance cruising boat with a special history. She has been loved and maintained and upgraded for the past 27 years by her dedicated owner. I wish all owners were like this. The new teak deck is simply astounding. Gorgeous!  We are proud to offer this Baltic 42 DP to our followers. There are not so many good boats left from this amazing era. Incessant is appealing. If you like sailing, you will love the performance of this special cruiser!

Shenanigans  is a well cared for 1977 Grand Banks 42 Classic. The GB42 is the base by which all other trawlers and downeast cruisers are measured against. These popular yachts boast high quality construction, layout, and comfort. There's a reason why these yachts were built for over 30 years with more than 1,500 hulls built.
Shenanigans is no exception. Her owners have kept her in good shape cosmetically and mechanically. She has newer canvas, newer electronics, newer fuel tanks, and a newer genset. Her exterior teak trim was just varnished and she is getting a full spring detail.
If you're in the market for a GB42 to do the Loop, cruise to the islands, or just explore the Chesapeake, then make sure to come see Shenanigans before she's gone!

One Love is a very special yacht. She is a 2002 Puffin 42 (delivered June 2003), designed by Van Meer and built by the renowned De Gier & Bezann, now VMG, in the Netherlands. Puffins are semi-custom build yachts, and her one, original owner has outfitted with the right gear for easy couples cruising and is capable of sailing the seven seas.
Don't let her 42' size fool you, this yacht is more of a mini-ship in capability and construction. Her steel hull is durable yet efficient, at close to 19 tons displacement she is capable of handling the worst Mother Nature can throw at her. Van Meer designed the hull to enable sailing in the shallowest of waters and cross oceans. On top of internal 4,400# of ballast there is an additional 2,700# in the foil shaped centerboard. With the board up she draws shy of 4' so you can get into the smallest island holes you can find.
The Puffin deck layout and construction was done with safety in mind. Her high bulwarks will keep you on deck while moving about, and the uncluttered layout will allow easy handling of the cutter sail plan. There is a non-overlapping yankee at the end of the sprit, a furling staysail, high aspect main, and spinnaker. The cockpit is nicely protected with a dodger and bimini. Most controls are led aft (main halyard and reefs are done at the mast) and the traveler is mounted forward of the dodger on top the deck house, the cockpit is large and uncluttered.
Below is what you would expect of a yacht of this caliber and more. The raised salon with large picture windows gives you and your guests and uncompromising view as the world goes by. To port is the salon table with leather upholstery, the table also drops down to form a double berth. To starboard is a fully equipped nav station and behind that is a single sea berth that also doubles as a storage area when not in use. Yes, those are real opening port holes in the forward portion of the salon. This design is kindly for both island hopping and riding out a gale. Continuing below to the lower salon and it just gets better. It's hard to believe this is a 42' yacht. Immediately to port, under the raised salon, is a large double berth. In the middle of the salon is a large table, with galley to port and a large L shaped-settee to starboard. The galley arrangement on this boat lends more to a gourmet kitchen then an afterthought tucked into a corner as it is with many production boats. You and your guests can be easily entertained in both salons, and the chef can remain a part of the action. Such a rarity on any boat, let alone one of this size. Plus the head room! The Dutch after all are some of the tallest Europeans, almost 6' 6" of clearance! This is thanks to Van Meers rounded bilge design; 93% of her length is water line. The interior mahogany joinery, wood headliner, and bronze hardware fill the soul with warmth and comfort. Forward of the galley is the head to starboard with a separate shower to port. Entrance to both from the galley or master stateroom. The master stateroom forward features a large double bed along the starboard side and a seat on the port side next to the large hanging locker. A solid bulkhead separates the chain locker and bow from the cabin area.

The listing agent has known the seller for his entire life, and I have not only sailed upon her numerous times but was lucky enough to meet One Love in Bermuda on her maiden voyage from Europe, leaving from England with a stop in the Azores. One Love was the US show boat for Puffin, and she was in the Newport Boat Show in 2003, Annapolis Fall Show in 2004, and again in Newport in 2005.

A yacht of this caliber is about as unique you can get on the water without spending millions on a completely custom build. The build quality, fit and finish, and thoughtfulness that went into the construction of One Love is second to none. You will not find a better ocean cruiser in this size range.
If you're in the market for a world voyager with a head turning look this is your ticket. Be sure not to pass up a look at One Love.
