The current owners built this boat being their second from Sabre with great care and understanding just what Sabre could accomplish. There are custom additions to just about every area of the boat. Sabre has taken the market by storm with this boat which then turned it into the Sabre 42 Salon Express in 2012. It has the Zeus Pod drives with the Cummins engines with a Skyhook feature that will keep the boat in a fixed position, despite current and winds at just a touch of a button. This comes in handy when waiting for a bridge or when waiting for a fuel dock to free up and even picking up a mooring. The Skyhook system also includes an autopilot which is integrated into the yachts navigational equipment. There are two separate vessel view displays to monitor engine, generator, and boat systems with a touch of a button.
Her owners cabin is fitted with a custom mattress and a low berth which is easy to get out of and easy to make. Many drawers, cabinets and a cedar-lined hanging locker provide storage for all the personal belongings. Beautiful cherry hull side cabinets and convenient shelves and lockers are located above the berth. The stylish Shoji door slides in a pocket when open.
The head is located to port. There are two doors so one can be used for a day head entrance and the other a private entrance from the bow stateroom. It is equipped with an Electra-flush head, has solid surface countertops and a recessed sink. The shower has a round plexi door for added elbow room and to keep the rest of the head dry.
The main salon is finished with American cherry furniture and contemporary seating. The salon has large windows and sliding hatches overhead. A helm door to the starboard side deck allows the helmsman easy access to the side decks.
To port a comfortable Ultra-leather L-settee with a hi-lo table. In the aft starboard corner is a custom fabric covered barrel chair. To starboard aft of the custom Stidd helm chairs with their custom chrome pedestals is a cherry cabinet that houses the electrical supply panels with a television on an electric lift. A DVD player is integrated into the entertainment system.
The guest cabin was configured as a convertible dinette with fore and aft facing seating and a beautiful high gloss inlaid table between the seats. The opening was cut back to follow the line of the stairs and fitted with a curtain for privacy. This really opens this stateroom up when in its dinette configuration which is most of the time. A fixed hatch overhead with translucent lens and a stainless steel port light in the cabin side, provide natural light to this space. Lighting systems here include courtesy lights at floor level, cool LED lights in the overhead and a reading light above the night stand. Your guests will be accommodated in total comfort in this elegant cabin.
Her mid-galley just seems perfect. It is open and airy with tons of lighting shining down through the windows. Yet you are still part of the social activities centered in the salon but below the site lines when underway. The galley sole is high enough that the person working in the galley has a full view of the scene outside. Space created below the galley sole is used for additional storage. Features include two stainless steel fridge drawers and a separate freezer unit forward, a stainless steel designer sink, convection microwave oven and two burner ceramic cooktop. Of course there is custom Corian countertops, a deep sink with a single lever faucet with a built in water purifer.
At the helm, an elegantly finished navigational electronics pod offers plenty of space for the extensive equipment that owners chose to install (See Electronics). Outboard a swing door provides access to the side deck as well as ventilation while underway. Her cockpit is spacious and comfortable with plush seating surrounding, covered in a beautiful Sunbrella, and an elegant fold over leaf table. Access to the Zeus pods is via a large hatch in the cockpit sole.
