This Hunter 44AC is NOW in the water @ South Annapolis Yacht Center for your inspection and survey! She is beautiful and ready for your cruising adventure's!
"Romper" is a well loved and well appointed Hunter 44'. She features both Air Conditioning and Generator, Max Prop and Seldon furling Mainsail! On 4/14/2013 she completely compounded and waxed and bottom painted! She also just had her main batteries replaced~
The Hunter 44 is an excellent cruising boat for two, but it has two heads and sleeping quarters for six. When going on a long sail to NY City, we brought along extra crew for the overnight sail. However, sailing around New England was great for my wife and me.
The generous cockpit of the AC is perfect to treat the family and grandkids to day sails. It also can handle a large party of sundowners.
The reversing Max Prop makes handling “Romper” a piece of cake. It is very maneuverable in most docking situations short of a gale. We truly enjoyed the extra lift we got from the custom spinnaker. It can be rigged and deployed by one person courtesy of the “sock.” On a windward beat the hull shape gave most comparable sail vessels a run for their money.
We traded our Hunter 376 for the 2004 Hunter 44 because it was more spacious below, sailed faster, and it was equally agile to handle in tight quarters. Below it has a centerline bed, dining table with a leaf and copious storage. (The ice maker is great, too.)

The 44AC's spacious cockpit is great for entertaining and includes five storage lockers for gear, ample seating, integral swim platform with boarding ladder and transom shower. Below decks, ample sleeping accommodations are provided with an aft master cabin that features a center-line queen bed, private entrance to the aft head, dressing seating, two closets, storage lockers, and a dresser with mirror. Additional engine access is also located in the aft cabin. The forward Pullman cabin sleeps two and is equipped with a vanity sink and lots of storage both in the vanity and under the berth in large pull out drawers. The private forward head makes this a great second cabin for family or guests. The roomy salon has a dining table with removable leaf that will seat six and drops down to make an additional berth. Deluxe hatches and ports throughout provide ample ventilation and light. Ports are supplied with screens, and the hatches include Oceanaire shades and screens. Both heads are equipped with showers. The full service galley and well equipped nav station make extended cruising a pleasure.
