Due to aging teak decks, SIMPLICITY was removed from the brokerage market and underwent a complete deck replacement. The teak decks were removed, then the top skin and core were removed. The deck was re-cored with new end grain balsa coring and solid GRP laminations at each deck penetration. Then the GRP exterior skin was hand-laid and refinished with a gelcoat non-skid finish. All deck hardware was bedded and reinstalled with new fasteners.
SIMPLICITY is a seaworthy performance cruiser designed by Al Mason and has always been a private yacht (never in charter service). She has been meticulously maintained by both her original & present owners. Her features include a reliable PERKINS 4-108, DUTCHMAN main-sail furling, SCHAEFER furling head-sail, generator, integrated dodger/bimini, GPS chartplotter, Radar, and much more. For ease of maintenance and upkeep, an equipment model number list has also been maintained.
