In the collector car world this boat would be known as “a Rare Find”. What a classic… Stephens Bros boat builders vessel's are one of the most respected boat designers in American boat building history.
The planking is Philippine mahogany on oak framing. The cabin sides are Honduran mahogany as is the toe rail and transom.
Contessa is a two stateroom vessel. A bunkroom foreword with head. The master is aft with walk-in shower and two huge hanging closets. A very large saloon for entertaining and the full galley with settee is located amidships. This must be the yacht that they coined the phrase "its the journey, not the destination".The most resent survey (12/08) put the replacement value just shy of one million dollars!!! DO NOT BUY THIS YACHT IF YOU ARE SHY... you always will be turning heads and a trip to the gas dock you end up a tour guide and Classic Yacht historian... A TRUE PEACE OF AMERICAN HISTORY.
