This beautiful classic style yacht was designed by renowned American naval architect William C. Frank of Offshore Yacht Design to be his own yacht and was built by Global Yachts (the Howdy Bailey yard) in high grade marine aluminium in Norfolk, Virginia.
The designer wanted a strong, fast and comfortable yacht which would benefit from the reduced maintenance associated with modern materials, but one which nevertheless retained a handsome traditional look; as a result the build was completed not to a cost parameter but by using the best quality materials, fittings and equipment available to the highest standards. Massive frames and heavy hull plating built a very strong hull and deck; Teak decks are overlayed to the aluminium deck plating without mechanical fastenings; deckhouses, butterfly hatch and deck furniture are of the highest quality Honduras mahogany and still, today, look as good as the day they were made. Below she is a breathtaking example of the Gentlemen’s days of yachting; mahogany, brass lamps, bar, library, curtains and atmosphere are found throughout.
Everything about this yacht states "Quality" both inside and out. The fantastic paintwork on the hull, glistening varnish on the deck furniture, sparkling Stainless steel fittings are worthy of a 'Concours' winner. In 2008, her 10th Birthday, she took second place in the 'Concours d'Elegance' at the Antigua Classic Regatta.
With hydraulic winches and furlers, the sails can be easily handled by two people, yet she can be sailed in a regatta by a crew of 6 and accommodate all for the week in complete comfort.
This yacht has been subject to numerous excellent articles in the American yachting press ,yet has been a 'well kept secret' from those of us in the 'Classic' and traditional regatta world in Europe who really appreciate a great yacht in the true 'Spirit of Tradition'.
An exceedingly comfortable and well-appointed yacht with stunning good looks, she will appeal to those who enjoy comfortable passages, relaxed cruising, fun regattas and a little more luxury at the end of a day; all of this on a yacht with the style of yesteryear. She has plenty of space to take guests when you want but the ease of operation when you don't.
This yacht is only for sale as the Owners have a growing family and need a larger version!
