First off, KOLONAHE is no motorsailer. Designed and built on a sailboat hull she is most definitely a pilothouse vessel. She has one of the nicest interior layouts we’ve ever seen in a forty-footer: Accommodations for seven, galley up, dedicated inside helm station, forward facing chart table, full sized cockpit, separate shower stall in the head, abundant storage both on deck and below, average freeboard, and a low profile cabin house. Amazing. A raised dinette affords views while seated. The cook will enjoy meal preparation with top/front opening fridge, deep double stainless sinks, and a large Force Ten stove/oven - all this while being able to see outside and carry on a conversation with those in the cockpit. Motoring up the Inside Passage on a rainy day? Pull the dinette backrest aft and crank up the seat of the inside helm station. There’s something to be said for a dry pilothouse.

KOLONAHE has been well maintained and updated by her previous owners. Upgrades include Simrad electronics, new Pro-heat hydronic diesel heating, and Robertson autopilot. Her interior joinerwork is impressive with fully louvered locker doors and staved bulkheads and overheads. The builder has carried off the difficult task of using mixed woods. Teak, white ash and cedar are effectively used throughout the boat. The effect is a light, detailed, and tasteful interior.
