YARE is one of the most appealing, traditional gaff-rigged cutters this office has seen in the last several years. She is an excellent example of the highest quality of construction, workmanship and finish, while displaying the graceful lines of a low profile trunk cabin and attractive sheer. Her present owner purchased her in 2008 and has cruised her extensively along the Maine Coast and to the Canadian Maritimes. He reports that YARE is well balanced and can be sailed singlehandedly or shorthanded with ease. She has proven to be both sea kindly and stable, making her a capable cruising boat. YARE’S original owner, John Davies, was a professional boatbuiler and built her in 1991. He had guidance in her building process from Arno Day of Brooklin, Maine.
