FORTHRIGHT is a handsome, rugged cruising cutter designed by the late Joel White and built in 1985 by one of New England's premier wooden boat builders, Gordon Swift of Swift Custom Boats of Kensington,NH. FORTHRIGHT is one of this builders finest achievements offering superior construction and the best quality of materials, including all local timber. All silicon bronze fittings were patterned by Gordon Swift and cast at a local foundry specializing in high quality custom bronze hardware. Other highlights include her ability to be sailed shorthanded easily with all Harken roller furling sails, new electronics, updated wiring, and a wonderfully comfortable interior for long range cruising for four or five, but best suited for a couple. This is an extraordinary offering and we look forward to showing this quality vessel to any serious prospects. Thank you for your interest. A classic design by Nathanael Herreshoff, redesigned by Joel White. White made slight modifications to the lines of this most popular of Herreshoff's boats, in order to reduce the draft by one foot, and to provide a centerboard to offset the loss of lateral plane. His goal was to secure a shallower hull without losing the essence of the original design and without creating any noticeable change in performance. Judging by the popularity of Joel White's Haven 12 1/2, we'd say he did just that.
Freshly painted and varnished and stored indoors on a dirt floor.Shows like new.The trailer is included in the asking price.
