Construction Details The build quality of the Sabreline vessels is truly outstanding with only the best materials used in their construction. The hull of the 36 Express is fully cored hull making it lighter but extremely rigid. The hull is laid up with ISO-NPG gel coat, vinylester resin and knitted bi-axle E-glass fiberglass cloth. The bottom and hull sides are cored with the synthetic foam core Divinycell. The stringer system is of a foam/plywood construction fully encased in fiberglass. The deck structure is also made of ISO-NPG gel coat, vinylester resin and knitted fiberglass cloth, but is cored with end grained balsa. The hull to deck joint is of a special design. The shoe-box style joint uses a chemical and mechanical bond with an aluminum backing plate drilled and taped to receive the stainless steel fasteners on 12" centers. |

Vessel Walk Thru The enclosed helm area is accessed from the cockpit on the starboard side. The aft end of the helm area is enclosed with a soft-sided canvas enclosure that is removable to open the area to the cockpit. The helm deck features an L-shaped settee to port with a beautiful varnished teak grated table. Opposite to starboard is the helm with pedestal seat. The area is air conditioned and has sliding windows on either side and an opening centerline window forward with two opening hatches overhead. Forward on centerline is a teak & acrylic companionway down into the cabin. As you enter the cabin, there is a large U-shaped settee/dinette to starboard with a cherry wood table; this settee/dinette does convert to t double berth. Across on port and aft is the U-shaped galley with Sub-Zero refrigerator, propane stove and oven and a microwave; all the comforts of home, on the water. Foward of the galley is the head with vac-u-flush toilet system and private access to the stateroom. The master stateroom is forward of the salon in the bow and features a centerline marine queen pedestal berth with storage beneath. There are also numerous shelves, lockers and storage areas - and of course, the private access to the head. |
Salon Entering the salon you are immediately struck by the beautiful cherry wood interior and the craftsmanship of its finish. The attention to detail is superb and gives the feeling of fine custom furniture. The focus of the salon is the U-shaped settee/dinette to starboard, covered in a brilliant blue fabric and the cherry wood table. The settee does convert to a very comfortable double berth for overnight guests. There are numerous storage lockers beneath, behind and in front & back of the settee. For entertainment, there is a large flat panel TV on the forward bulkhead and a stereo system.
Galley The galley is compact but well laid out with all the appliances you are likely to need while out on the water. The sandstone solid surface counters are expertly framed with cherry wood fiddles, as all proper vessels should be. There are a total of 12 compartments and/or drawers in the galley area for storage. Refrigeration is by Sub-Zero and there is a propane stove with oven.
Forward Stateroom The master stateroom is as expertly finished as the salon. There is a centerline marine queen berth on a pedestal with step-ups for easy access. The air conditioning system is a split unit with the compressor in the engine room and the air handler beneath the berth. By splitting the unit, you will not be kept awake at night because of a noisy compressor in your cabin. Once again, ample storage is offered including a large hanging locker aft to starboard. Private access to the head is offered via a door aft to port.

Head The head is compact and very business like. The space is finished in white fiberglass and Formica with just the right amount of cherry trim. The counter around the sink is covered in the sandstone solid surface material with fiddles.

Enclosed Helm Deck The enclosed helm is a must have feature. The space has an stand alone air conditioning system that will allow you to dramatically add to the interior space of the boat. Or you can take down the aft canvas, open all the windows and enjoy the great outdoors. There is a large raised settee on port with a beautiful teak grated table take give passengers spectacular 360 degree views.

Helm The helm is expertly thought out with all control at the captain's fingertips. The electronics are flush mounted and well positioned. The helm seat is a beautifully finished fiberglass unit with teak accents, armrests and removable cushions, all mounted to an aluminium pedestal with large teak footrest.

Cockpit The cockpit features fore and aft facing seats, a walk-thru transom door, molded steps to the side decks and 3 in-sole lazarette hatches for generator and storage access. The forward facing seat against the transom does fold away if you would care to do some fishing. The aft facing beneath seat offers great storage for dock-lines and cleaning supplies. It is interesting to note that Sabre has designed the cockpit deck to be removable should there every be the need to access the fuel tank or water tanks.

Mechanical Mechanical access in the 36 HT is excellent. The engine room is entered from the hatch helm area. Should there ever be the need for major service to or the need for removal of the engines, the deck is designed to unbolt and be lifted out of the way. This practical (but hard to find in lesser boat feature) is guaranteed to save some owner lots of labor charges at some point in the life of the boat. Another very practical feature of the mechanical layout of the boat is the placement of the fuel and water tanks beneath the cockpit, as opposed to in the engine space, making engine access for service much less cramped.

On Deck The deck arrangement and access is absolutely the finest you will find in any boat of this size. The side decks and bow feature WIDE and FLAT deck space that is sure under foot. The tall stainless steel bow rail and numerous other handholds make this boat extremely safe to forward on.

Brokers Comments It is my opinion that Sabre builds the very finest boats of their kind. They are extremely well though-thru, engineered and constructed. Their traditional styling is very attractive, but more importantly, because of the traditional nature of a Sabre, the vessels tends to be safer too. The wide fore decks and high bow rails helps insure that the crew can safely go forward to the bow. The large windshield and properly positioned helm, give the captain a clear line of sight in all conditions. Most boat manufactures place too high an importance on creating a modern look and adding to the ever increasing amount of interior space, will sacrificing exterior access while on deck. To a precious few boat manufactures, like Sabre, it is more important that a boat be practical and safe to operate and will therefore let form follow function, in a very traditional way. I am very impressed with the care and attention to detail that the owner has given "Let's Dance"; this boat is well loved. She is equipped with the upgrade 370 Yanmar diesels and has a good turn of speed. Here interior is beautifully finished in cherry wood creating a warm, comfortable and relaxing environment. This boat shows as well in-person as she does in pictures. |
