Manufacturer Provided Description Designed by leading US Naval Architect Ed Monk Jr, the Ocean Alexander 420-440 Motoryacht has rapidly established itself as one of Ocean Alexander's most popular model lines ever. The subtle styling has impressed yachting journalists worldwide with its elusive blend of aggressive purposefulness and sleek, classical lines. Conceived as an aft cabin or raised sundeck motoryacht, the 420 and 440 cockpit variants offer enhanced boarding access and water sports capability. The highest quality of fixtures and fittings are used throughout the yacht, and while the basic specification is very comprehensive, the list of options and extras available is exhaustive. One of the most notable features of the interior finishing is the extraordinary quality of joiner work, which is normally executed in golden teak although other timber species may be selected. The interior layout features two main cabins, a large saloon, well equipped galley, and two heads with showers. Owners have total freedom to select various options of layout, seating, tables, and cabinetry. The standard power unit consists of a pair of Cummins 250 horsepower turbo-diesels; cruising performance with these engines would be approximately 16 knots. However, options ranging up to the 375 horsepower Caterpillar can be specified, and with this configuration top speeds of 24 knots can be achieved. |
