Accommodations

The Cape Dory 28 is very spacious for a traditional vessel.  "Sarah Wren's" cabin is varnished teak whereas most CD 28's are oiled.

The forward cabin has v berths port and starboard, and a filler cushion mkes this a double berth.  There is storage underneath.  There are two opening ports and a large Bomar hatch for excellent ventilation.

The head area is between the forward and main cabins, and doors on either side close to make the head area athwart ships.  The toilet is to port with a locker outboard, and a vanity with sink is to starboard.  An opening port on each side and a dorade vent to port provides the ventilation.

The main cabin is next aft.  There are settee / berths port and starboard, with the port berth extending inboard to form a double.  The dining table folds against the port forward bulkhead.  There is a Taylor bulkhead mounted kerosene heater on the starboard bulkhead.  Shelves outboard of the berths are deep and offer good storage as do areas behind the backrests.  4 opening ports and a large Bomar hatch overhead provide excellent ventilation.  A barometer is on the port bulkhead and a clock is on the starboard.  2 Brass oil lamps are mounted forward oand aft.

The galley is aft, on both sides of the companionway.  The stove is an Origo 2 burner non-pressurized alcohol stove, and it is resessed into the starboard counter.  The Ice Box is to starboard and the sink with manual cold water is adjacent to the companionway.  Good storage areas for stores and cookware surrounds the galley.
