WALK THROUGH The designers and builders of the Bristol married form with function!. Rugged construction, beautiful teak woodwork, good performance and very spacious layout w/ large cabins, including owners aft suite w/ centerline queen and ensuite head w/ separate stall shower. There are two additional guest cabins, one VIP forward and the second opposite the guest head w/ separate stall shower. This Bristol 53 benefited from the original owner ‘s customizing and surveyor inspections throughout the building cycle at Bristol's quality building facility in Rhode island. Shortly after delivery she was displayed by Bristol Yacht Company at the 1987 Annapolis Boat Show. This is probably the best prepared Bristol ever for offshore passages and liveaboard. Hundreds of spare parts are meticulously catalogued. All major boat systems are backed up with duplicate systems and spare parts. The new Pro Furl units were added to the headstay and innerforestay and all standing rigging was replaced. At the same time, the main engine was serviced, including new injectors, hoses, belts and heat exchanger. In 1997, the full B&G Hydra 2 electronic package was installed (providing more than 60 different functions) and the sails were replaced. In 1998, a Rich Beers 12 volt and engine driven refrigeration and freezer system was added utilizing only the existing cold plates. In 2000, all hatches and portlights were replaced. To insure ease of handling, the main mast is a Hood electric stoway and the primary self~tailing winches are electric and the ketch rig reduces the size of each sail while providing many different configurations for heavy weather sailing. The boat is comfortably sailed by a crew of two for long offshore passages. The 12.5 kvw generator provides 110 power for the AC systems, including two zone reverse cycle air conditioning when underway or anchored or at the dock and a 600 gallons per day reverse osmosis watermaker. |
