Design

The semi-displacement hull with a draft of 8 ft was model-tested at the Ocean Engineering Centre in Vancouver, B.C. for both power selection and sea keeping with excellent results. The bulbous bow and dynamic hull shape is a continuation of the award winning work Patrick Bray, Naval Architect, has been doing with super fuel-efficient hull technology.

Performance

The vessels will have a range of 6,500 miles at a 12 knot cruise and a top speed of 20 knots. The fixed active stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters, and twin screws protected by large shaft skegs are a part of that development. A bi-foil (fixed wing) under each prop provides passive trim control and reduces pitching. Propulsion will be provided by two C32 CATS driving 50" propellers.
