Accommodations & Walkthrough AIREX CORE Construction which is the finest and most expensive compost core construction material to date. It is so expensive, it is cost prohibitive to use it in most applications. You literally can drill a hole in it and only the hole will fill up with water. The hull was engineered by Glen Haught, who now does all of Jarret Bay's engineering and structural design work. She was built and laid up to accommodate a pair of 1800 horse power engines and designed to cruise in the high 30 to low 40 knot range. The "lay up" schedule is available for review, explaining what has been done to the exterior of the hull. The "lay up" schedule for the inside is also available for the rest of this hull. During the design and construction of this hull, the builder, Steve Gwalney, built this hull on an adjustable and re-usable jig - a very expensive but genuine design as many, many more hulls can be built using this jig - and the jig would allow one to add deadrise or reduce, adjust the beam and all of her angles to preference. Plus, the hull and jig can be lifted up with travel lift and put on a tractor trailer to transport. The transom on this hull was built with reverse. . . .great design . . . gives the cockpit more usable space and when backing down on a fish, actually pushes the water back, rather than straight up and into the cockpit. This hull design is a product of the previous 61's that Steve Gwaltney built(see attached photos). . . very successful hull . . . impressively designed, exceptionally dry and an incredible sea boat. Steve Gwaltney simply "super sized" the 61' giving her more beam(18.5') and another couple of feet in length(63'). Steve said with the extra beam, she could carry more fuel with no handy cap in speed. And the extra length would put her in "two sea's" at one time, rather than going over one wave, going down to meet the next one. The actual cost of the hull and jig is 188K, would cost much more now. She is being offered at a fraction of that cost. Call Jim greene today! |
