FREYA had a major refit at the Hinckley Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine in 2006. Major items are listed throughout the listing.

Some Selected Items Include: New Leisure Furl in-boom system, Navtec hydraulics, Main and mizzen Awlgripped and main rewired, and halyards internalized. New standing rigging including insulated backstay, stanchions, bow and stern pulpits polished and rebedded. New lifelines, main sail, generator, refrigeration, watermaker, and much, much more.....................

HULL AND DECK
  • Topsides: Flag Blue Awlgrip (1999) - hull stripped by Hinckley.
  • Deck: Off-White with Light Grey Nonskid molded-in.
  • Boot Top: White
  • Bottom: Red
  • Exterior Wood: Varnished Teak
  • Interior Wood: Satin and gloss varnished Birch with gloss varnished teak & holly sole.
  • CONSTRUCTION:

  • Solid handlaid fiberglass hull and deck, reinforced with additional laminations in all stress areas and longitudinal stiffeners in the hull.
  • Deck - is set in a 6” flange, fiberglassed and bolted to form a permanent hull/deck joint.
  • Keel/Centerboard underbody - The keel incudes a cast bronze, foil-shaped centerboard that is operated by an electrically controlled worm gear and includes override protection in case of grounding.

  • INTERIOR ACCOMMODATIONS
    Custom Aft-Cabin "D" Layout.

    The Interior is finished in satin and gloss varnished birch with high-gloss cabin sole of teak & holly refinished with Awlgrip Plus (1998).

  • Diesel-fired Espar heat is provided separately for the main salon and forward cabin (Espar 2006) and aft cabin and main salon (Espar rebuilt 2006).
  • Eight (8) opening ports in the cabin side and extra dorade boxes into Owner’s Head and over the Galley insure a well ventilated interior.
  • New upholstery throughout (2005).
  • Interior Walkthrough:
    FORWARD: The foc’sle has a divided chain/rope locker, and anchor stowage.

    FORWARD CABIN: The sound-proofed Forward Cabin has a V-berth and filler cushion to form a double berth.

  • Under each berth is drop-front/drawer storage
  • There are shelves over each berth, plus reading lights.
  • Special access to the deck from this cabin via a molded fiberglass and teak captain’s booby-hatch with removable stainless steel ladder.
  • A door separates this cabin from the main cabin.
  • Two large hanging lockers are next aft to starboard.
  • All hanging lockers have louvered doors and dome lights.
  • HEAD: The full Head is opposite the hanging lockers to port.

  • Wilcox-Crittenden head to holding tank (2006).
  • Shower.
  • Full-length mirror.
  • Outboard are huge lockers, one featuring six-ditty drawers.
  • Hamper, new sink and fixtures are mounted in light blue formica countertops.
  • MAIN SALON: The Salon is outfitted in yacht fashion and has many built-in features to compliment this large, airy living area that includes four opening ports and a large deck hatch that provide plenty of light and ventilation.

  • Pull-out transom berths - port and starboard.
  • To port - Storage bins are over the transom berth.
  • Starboard - Bookcases and storage are over the transom berth.
  • Three more drawers are located above each transom berth.
  • Entertainment Area - Outboard to starboard, with a built-in stereo.
  • Dining Table: Between is the large, drop-leaf dining table with bottle stowage under.
  • Fireplace: At the main bulkhead is a custom chrome/Soapstone Luke fireplace. There are special coal and wood storage drawers.
  • NAVIGATION STATION: One step up and next aft to starboard, the traditional Nav Area includes a chart table with large drawers under and drop-down seat (2006) opposite.

  • Aft of the Nav Station, at the base of the companionway, is the full DC/AC distribution panel.
  • GALLEY: Opposite to port is the Galley.

  • Double stainless steel sinks with cover.
  • Large storage lift-outs.
  • Cabinets outboard with built-in dish and silverware stowage.
  • Gimballed Broadwater 4-burner stove with oven and broiler. There are 2006 solenoid switch and propane sensors below stove and in the bilge.
  • Grunert refrigeration (2006) with sliding plexi-glass shelf.
  • Custom Hinckley glass and cup holders.
  • OWNER’S SUITE Aft:

  • Single berths to port and starboard
  • Built-in lockers and shelves over/under for plenty of storage.
  • Private Head - Forward and to starboard with Broko toilet to holding tank (2006), shower, full-length mirror, frosted glass portlight and an opening port.
  • Additional ventilator hatches have been installed in the bridge deck, under the dodger, to give the Owner’s cabin unusually good ventilation.
  • Portlights in the hull make this cabin exceptionally light and airy.

  • ELECTRICAL
    12-Volt System:
  • Two banks of storage batteries - charged by engine alternators or through a Mastervolt inverter/battery charger or Westerbeke 7.8-kw generator.
  • The lighting and starting battery banks (new lighting batteries 2004)(New starting battery 2008) are larger than the standard battery banks and are completely separate with their own charging systems. They can also be interconnected if there is a failure in one system
  • S.A.L.T. electrical system monitor in Bass panel (2006).
    • Westerbeke 7.8-kw generator (2006)(46 generator hrs.-12/2008).
    • Mastervolt inverter/battery charger (2006).
    • 30-amp Shore power cord.
    • 50-amp Shore power cord (2006).

    MECHANICAL
    In 1995, this 1976 Ford Lehman 6-cylinder, fresh-water-cooled engine was removed and rebuilt at 4500-engine hours, currently 964.5 hrs.(12/2008).

    • Max 3-blade propeller (1994) and shaft spurs.

    HRH fabricated main mast and stoway mizzen with 1 x 19 wire standing rigging -All rigging updated (2006).

  • Leisure Fur Boom system - with powered halyard winch, main halyard and furling line led back to cockpit. Main sheet led outboard of halyard and furling line back to existing winch with line stoppers for all three lines.
  • Navtec hydraulic stem for hydraulic yang and backstay - with two function control panel in cockpit.
  • Hood Seafurl headstay system.
  • WINCHES: Total of 8 Barient stainless steel winches (6-rebuilt 2001, 2-new 2006):

  • Main AC/DC Custom Design Bass panel with new AC wiring, upgraded DC wiring. New Battery cables with all high-current wiring for battery, centerboard, windlass, charging and distribution cables. All battery disconnect switches moved to lower bulkhead of NAV station installed in brushed SS panel.
  • 2006 Mastervolt 12/2500 100 inverter/charger.
  • Transformer for connection to standard 220-volt U.S. power or 220-volt European shore power with new 50-amp waterproof inlet and 50-amp shore power cord. Transformer also accepts U.S. 110-volt power. No external switching is needed. There is also an existing 30-amp waterproof inlet w/30-amp shore power cord.
  • Fuel Polishing system: ALGAE-X FPS 500, 150-GPH, 12-volt DC. Pumps fuel through filter system and back to tank.
  • Awlgrip Main & Mizzen. Main rewired. Main halyards internalized. All new low stretch rope halyards except for mizzen halyard.
  • Main & Mizzen standing rigging & Hinckley rod lugs replaced. Mizzen rigging insulated for SSB.
  • Stanchions, bow pulpit & stern pulpit polished and rebedded. New lifelines.
  • Avon 310 Airdeck Inflatable w/inflatable floor & Yamaha 9.9 two stroke outboard.
  • Avon 6-person inflatable liferaft in canister - mounted in forward deck recess.

She has been thoroughly reviewed and repaired by qualified technicians in the various different Hinckley Service Departments. FREYA is a Gem!
