Broker Comments

It has been our priviledge to be involved with MINDY from her design to today. We worked with her owners to make their dream a reality. We have cruised over 10,000+ miles including two trips through the Panama Canal with the owners aboard this yacht; she is going to be hard to replace, everything works so well; she is quiet and solid. My hat is off to the owners for their vision and the builder for making their vision come to life. If you are looking for a "turn key" yacht call us and we will help you achieve your dream.

Accommodations and walk through

MINDY has 5 staterooms and five heads. Sleeping for 10 owners and guests. Sound attenuation was a HUGE priority when engineering the construction of this yacht. At cruise the salon is 67 dB's and the pilothouse is 57 dB's at cruise.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT
Hull, deck and superstructure of DIVINYCELL or equivalent cored fiberglass Extensive use of bi-axial and multi-axial E-glass reinforcement
Integral fiberglass fuel, fresh water and holding tanks, with baffles and cleaning inspection plates. Fiberglass rub rail with stainless steel capping
Tinted, tempered glass windows, utilizing high strength, adhesion style window system Awlcraft 2000 exterior finish Awlgrip non-skid exterior decks(new July 2009). Teak overlay on the swim step, cockpit, California deck, and walking decks to the port and starboard pantograph doors. Vinylester laminate and epoxy barrier on hull bottom with 5 year anti-osmosis warranty Two coats of antifoul bottom paint. The yacht just completed a yard period for annual maintenance and is ready to go back to Mexico when the season arrives.
WALK THROUGH
Entering the yacht at the transom you board through the marlin gate and transom door, the cockpit is spacious with a custom fighting chair and six (6) rod holders. There is a lazarette entry in the sole of the cockpit on starboard and a fish locker in the sole on port. The bait tank is large and will hold 4 scoops. The fishing gear storage is on the forward bulkhead of the cockpit. There are 4 large drawers plus rod storage. Up three steps to the spacious California deck with her forward facing seat and custom wood dining table. There are three(3) McGuire chairs that make seating for eight a breeze. There are three steps up on port for walk-up entry to the California deck.  An undercounter refrigerator and separate ice maker on the California deck make this area the center of entertainment. There are stereo speakers in the California deck and on the foredeck lounge area. Walking forward to the bow either port or starboard you come to the foredeck with the three lounges for sunning and just enjoying the music and friends. The stainless steel rails make this area safe and comfortable underway or at anchor. The anchor locker is recessed below deck and out of the out of the walking area. No chance to trip or stub your toe on anything on the foredeck. The pantograph doors port and starboard lead to the country galley and large breakfast dining area. The galley is very well laid out with ample storage and counter space for the chef and two assistants. A large Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, Gagganeau cooktop and oven, Fisher-Paykel double drawer type dishwasher, and a built in Miele expresso machine with cup warmer tops off the best laid out galley in any motoryacht of this size. There is a flat screen inset in the overhead that lowers to allow the guests to check the news while enjoying breakfast or chatting with the chef. Down the stairway on starboard is the forward VIP stateroom and another over and under stateroom these two staterooms share a head and stall shower. This area works well for crew quarters if the yacht is run with a captain and crew. Adjacent the galley is the on deck head, just aft of the head is the spiral stairway leading up to the enclosed pilothouse, aft of pilothouse is the boat deck with a table, L shaped setee and double BBQ. Down the spiral staircase to the owner's suite, VIP stateroom and a double stateroom; all with ensuite head and stall shower. Aft of the galley is the salon and dining area, the large sofa, two comfortable chairs and large coffee table make this the center of entertainment for the interior of the yacht. The engine room is accessed from the cockpit through an inset door the space is large enough to allow two gensets, two large engines but gives the mechanic ample space and headroom to work on the machinery. All the tanks in the yacht are fiberglass and low in the yacht distributing the weight of the liquids to the area where it does the most good. The fiberglass tanks also act as a double hull for the bottom of the yacht. An additional safety factor in the construction of Cheoy Lee Yachts.

Construction Details

This yacht was designed from a clean sheet of paper. Every detail was gone over prior to molding the yacht. The exterior styling and window line detail was by the late Tom Fexas and the interior styling and detail was by John Pokela of Gig Harbor, WA. Sound attenuation was engineered by SounDown Engineering in Rhode Island. The goal of 67 dB's in the salon at cruise was achieved by using over 14,000 lbs of sound insulation and custom mufflers for the Caterpillar engines and generators. The yacht is fully cored with closed cell foam giving the yacht a huge weight savings. The strength of a foam cored yacht is incredible; the flexing and twisting of the yacht is virtually eliminated. The squeaking and noise while underway does not exist in this yacht. The yacht is solid, quiet, safe, and smooth underway creating a relaxing environment for the owner's and guests. The Naiad Datum stabilazation system stops the rolling of the yacht while underway. The hydraulic bow and stern thrusters make close quarter dockings an easy operation. The yacht is easily handled with two people.

  • Fully cored hull and deck
  • SounDown insulation and custom mufflers for quiet running
  • Underwater exhaust for the main engines and gensets
  • Naiad Datum stabilizers
  • Seven tons of sound insulation
  • Hydraulic Bow and Stern Thrusters
  • Wired remote control for shifters, throttles, and thrusters

Fishing Cockpit and Lazarette

The owner of this yacht loves to deep sea fish. The cockpit was designed as a functional fishing area not as an ornament; this yacht catches fish. The large bait tank, custom Pompanette fighting chair, Rupp outriggers, teak cap rail and teak deck in the cockpit are made for fishing. The rod holders and tackle storage center are all up to par with fishing yachts. The four underwater lights illuminate the area aft and bring bait fish up to the yacht for a visual display that is incredible. The beauty of this area is that it does not intrude on the entertaining portion of the yacht. If the owner's guests don't feel like fishing; they can watch a movie, read, or lie in the sun on the foredeck. The yacht has air conditioned accomodations for several people. The lazarette under the cockpit is a huge storage area; there is a freezer, storage for lines, spare anchor, and other equipment needed for distance cruising. There are two 220 VAC 50 amp shore power inlets on the transom with Glendinning Cable Master cord management systems in the lazarette. There is also a fish storage box in the sole of the cockpit.

I have been in the yacht sales business for the last 33 years. I have built boats, delivered yachts up and down the Pacific Coast, sold new and brokerage power and sail, and have owned several personal yachts. Currently Patty and I work as a team in Emery Cove Marina in the San Francisco Bay. We want to earn your business, please give us a call.
