Broker Comments It has been our priviledge to be involved with MINDY from her design to today. We worked with her owners to make their dream a reality. We have cruised over 10,000+ miles including two trips through the Panama Canal with the owners aboard this yacht; she is going to be hard to replace, everything works so well; she is quiet and solid. My hat is off to the owners for their vision and the builder for making their vision come to life. If you are looking for a "turn key" yacht call us and we will help you achieve your dream. |
Accommodations and walk through MINDY has 5 staterooms and five heads. Sleeping for 10 owners and guests. Sound attenuation was a HUGE priority when engineering the construction of this yacht. At cruise the salon is 67 dB's and the pilothouse is 57 dB's at cruise. |

Construction Details This yacht was designed from a clean sheet of paper. Every detail was gone over prior to molding the yacht. The exterior styling and window line detail was by the late Tom Fexas and the interior styling and detail was by John Pokela of Gig Harbor, WA. Sound attenuation was engineered by SounDown Engineering in Rhode Island. The goal of 67 dB's in the salon at cruise was achieved by using over 14,000 lbs of sound insulation and custom mufflers for the Caterpillar engines and generators. The yacht is fully cored with closed cell foam giving the yacht a huge weight savings. The strength of a foam cored yacht is incredible; the flexing and twisting of the yacht is virtually eliminated. The squeaking and noise while underway does not exist in this yacht. The yacht is solid, quiet, safe, and smooth underway creating a relaxing environment for the owner's and guests. The Naiad Datum stabilazation system stops the rolling of the yacht while underway. The hydraulic bow and stern thrusters make close quarter dockings an easy operation. The yacht is easily handled with two people.

Fishing Cockpit and Lazarette The owner of this yacht loves to deep sea fish. The cockpit was designed as a functional fishing area not as an ornament; this yacht catches fish. The large bait tank, custom Pompanette fighting chair, Rupp outriggers, teak cap rail and teak deck in the cockpit are made for fishing. The rod holders and tackle storage center are all up to par with fishing yachts. The four underwater lights illuminate the area aft and bring bait fish up to the yacht for a visual display that is incredible. The beauty of this area is that it does not intrude on the entertaining portion of the yacht. If the owner's guests don't feel like fishing; they can watch a movie, read, or lie in the sun on the foredeck. The yacht has air conditioned accomodations for several people. The lazarette under the cockpit is a huge storage area; there is a freezer, storage for lines, spare anchor, and other equipment needed for distance cruising. There are two 220 VAC 50 amp shore power inlets on the transom with Glendinning Cable Master cord management systems in the lazarette. There is also a fish storage box in the sole of the cockpit.
Engine and Machinery Room The engine room is entered from the cockpit throught a watertight door. This area is spacious and has good headroom. The fire supression system is excellent and the air controller is well engineered.
California Deck The California deck is three steps up from the cockpit and features a large dining table, forward facing setee, three(3) McGuire chairs, a large refrigerator, ice maker, opening doors for boarding port or starboard, teak overlay on the deck, a large glass and stainless steel sliding door to enter the salon, a stairway up to the boat deck and pilothouse, and a custom wood dining table that will easily accomodate eight people for dinner. There is a formal dining table in the salon; but most dinners are eaten on the protected California deck.
Salon The salon in the yacht is spacious and well lit by the large windows. The large couch and two very comfortable chairs will seat five and the McGuire deck chairs may be brought in from the California deck to seat more guests. The entertainment center has a large flat screen with a stereo featuring surround sound. The windows area all covered with Levelor shades, the sliding door has a custom shade as well. The wine cooler and glass storage cabinet are forward on the starboard side of the salon. There is a four person dining table and chairs on forward on port. There is dishware storage on the port side forward as well. The wood is varnished sapele mahogany, this wood was chosen by the owner for it's destintive grain and richness that it adds to the interior of the yacht.
Enclosed Bridge The enclosed bridge is the command center of the yacht. With the dual Furuno chartplotters, radars, depth sounder units, and cameras. This area is the heart of the yacht when she is underway. The twin Stidd helm chairs, the setee and table aft make this area a social and serious area in one. The sound reading at cruise in this area is 57 dB. She is quiet and relaxing.
Upper Aft Deck The upper aft deck is the boat deck area but is a social area as well. The Jenn-Airr electric BBQ is located here with a table and L shaped setee for sitting with the chef while grilling fresh fish or steaks for dinner or just enjoying a beer on the aft deck while waiting for the crew to come back from town. When the tender is off the boat this area is very spacious, the tender chocks are removable and the deck is flat and enclosed with life lines and stainless steel safety rails.

Owner's Suite This suite was custom designed by John Pokela. The owner's suite is at the bottom of the spiral staircase with double entry doors and a large head and shower on starboard and large walk in hanging locker on port. The large opening portlights allow escape from this stateroom as well as a watertight door into the engine room in the walk-in closet. The mattress is custom built and upgraded in 2008.
Country Galley and Breakfast Setee The custom galley with ample storage is forward of the salon with the on deck head adjacent to the galley. The galley is spacious and has room for the chef and two assistants. The dining table with storage below the seats allows people to join the chef to socialize and have a cocktail while meals are being prepared. The forward windshields and port and starboard pantograph doors make this area one of the focal points of the yacht.
Forward VIP and Double Stateroom The forward VIP and the double stateroom down to starboard from the country galley share a head and shower. Currently this area is crew quarters. All mattresses in the staterooms are custom built and upgraded in 2008.

Electrical RECENTLY UPGRADED BY WARD'S IN FT. LAUDERDALE. The electrical system on the yacht is wonderful. She is equipped with dual 220 VAC 50 amp cords port and starboard on the transom with two Glendynning Cable Systems. The gensets are Northern Lights 33 KW 220 KVA 100 amp with soundshields for both. The inverters are two Outback 3500 pure sign wave inverter/chargers. The batteries are 8-D wet cell batteries for engine start, genset start and inverter.
Electronics Mindy has the state of the art electronics in 2006. She has redundant systems and will serve her next owner well. You will not have to go out and install all new equipment on this yacht. She was spec'd with Furuno, Icom, Simrad, and the best screens available at the time.
Foredeck and Anchor System The spacious foredeck allows three large deck lounges to fit on the foredeck and still have ample room for the deck boxes and the flush anchor windlass locker. The large hand rails around the foredeck make this area a safe place underway or at anchor. The oversized mooring cleats and bollards are well thought out for securing the yacht to the dock. The large BRUCE anchor and chain holds this yacht to the bottom in weather with safety and security.
