48' Greenline Hybrid 48
Built in 2016, AVA is the 22nd Greenline 48' to leave the factory in Slovenia. She was delivered and commissioned this Summer becoming the fourth Greenline to reach the shores of California. With dreams of cruising in luxurious comfort, the owners of this new and lightly-used beauty are now changing tacks and must sell.
GL22 is a near fully optioned example of the latest innovation from Greenline. The exciting new 3-cabin, 3-head and flybridge layout provide ample comfort for owners and guests alike. Twin 220 HP VOLVO PENTA D3 - These efficient & reliable diesels produce top speeds of 16knts in Diesel Mode. The optioned hybrid drive package means each engine is coupled to twin 14kW Electric motors by hydraulically operated clutches. The electric motors are also integrated as 10kW generators when you run the diesel engines. Becuase each diesel and electric motor are linked on a single drivetrain, AVA can utilize regenerative charging technology similar to that in a hybrid car.
Each electric motor allows AVA to cruise in silent, eco-friendly Electric Mode at 6knts without consuming any fuel. The long-term benefits provide a positive impact to our waterways, not to mention your bottom line.
Cruising at 4knts produyces a range of 20miles while running on the ship's dual 14kW Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery packs. Each Gen3 battery has a shelf life of 10years or 1000 deep cycles and weighs approximately 110lbs.
Three methods of Charging:
- Simple shore power connection at the dock through a 50amp shore cord.
- Dual PV Solar array producing 500W of charge directly to the LiPo pack
- Cruising in Diesel Mode generates up to 10kW of charge using regenerative current off the Volvo drive train.
This technology eliminates the need for a noisy generator. The house and start battery packs are tethered to the LiPo pack, managed by a smart Battery Management System (BMS).
In short, with heavy sun light there is no need to plug in the boat. You may run all AC & DC systems AND the propulsion off the Solar panels! This concept has created a whole new segment of boating we like to call Sun Sailing.
