Selling Your Boat in Tough Market Conditions• Is my boat competitively priced? Do I understand how much the values of boats have changed over the past year? A well trained broker can help show you this. • Am I paying for dockage and routine maintenance? If my boat were sold quickly I wouldn’t be paying for that any more. • What is my competition? How many other boats are for sale out there like mine? • Does my boat appear to be maintained? Is my boat clean? Is it presentable to show to a potential customer at a moment's notice? If a buyer is interested in your boat and he comes and sees it, you don’t want him to leave and look at any others! • If my boat is a newer year model boat and I want it sold, it is important to think of dealer inventory. Could they have a leftover model that they would sell for the price I think mine is worth? Which boat would I want? One that is new with no hours or one with 100 hours? It forces us to ask ourselves, do I really understand what my boat is worth in this current economy. • Is my broker up to speed with the current market conditions on boats that are comparable to mine? Will my broker help me understand the constantly changing market? We will! Asking yourself these questions can make a big difference in selling your boat or just advertising your boat. We see boats all the time that have been listed months with little or no activity. If you have a clean, well maintained boat, at the right price, then you have a very sellable boat and we want to help you sell it!
