The Back Cove 30 made her debut in the spring of 2010. She is the 5th design in the Back Cove range and took the place of the venerable Back Cove 29: the model that launched Back Cove in 2003. Back Cove's mission to design simple, low maintenance boats that are easy on the eyes, easy on expenses and easy on fuel, continues with this exciting new design.
The 30 has a single diesel engine and bow thruster combination that is more fuel efficient than most twin engine vessels of comparable size and displacement. New diesels of the type installed in this model are cleaner-running and quieter, thanks to modern fuel injection technologies. Cruise speeds with her standard 315 hp engine are in the 22 knot range and optional engines are available that will raise cruise speeds above the mid-twenties.
The Back Cove 34 combines the maneuverability of a smaller yacht with the convenient sleeping arrangement of larger motor yachts. With all her helm seating and galley-up, she is ideal for cruising with good company on deck. With her spacious stateroom, L-Settee and convertible double berth on the helm deck, she can easily sleep five making her ideal for a family.
Below deck is a queen berth, L-settee with pilot berth above, and a head with stall shower. On the helm deck, a full galley stretches out aft of the helm seat and to port is a dinette where four adults can sit and enjoy a meal. The inlaid table is a fine example of the Maine boat builder's craftsmanship and tradition, evident throughout the Back Cove 34. Forward of the dinette, a double mate's seat is a wide Ultra-leather bench seat for the navigator. The helm deck is airy and bright with overhead hatches, opening side windows and a center opening windshield. We order our boats with the optional hardback enclosure which fully encloses the pilothouse for more comfortable Northwest cruising.
The designer of the Back Cove 37 has drawn a "space within a space" layout that conveys an openness and bright feeling. Her main salon is surrounded by large windows, several opening wide to allow fresh air to flow through this luxurious space. This entire deck is raised to the height of the steering pedestal so as to provide the same views for helmsman, crew and guests; a proven design element of other Back Cove models which has become a big "why" factor that purchasers refer to over and over again as their favorite thing about their Back Cove.
Cockpit seating and bi-fold doors connects seamlessly to the helm deck for a wide open place to relax and enjoy the day.
