2007 - 33' Back Cove "Kiwi Gold"
The Back Cove story began in 2003 when Back Cove Yachts and the design team from her sister company, Sabre Yachts, collaborated to create and introduce a simple but elegant power boat range. The styling is reminiscent of the Maine lobster boat: a spoon bow, a gently sloped reverse transom, and a touch of tumblehome in the topsides. The new Back Cove 33 its practical design features strike a chord with little competition in today's marketplace. This classic yacht yields itself to being the perfect blend of functionality and style for cruising here in the Northwest.
The Helm Deck with Dinette Seating
On her helm deck, the sense of spaciousness is impressive. A raised dinette with an elegant inlaid table will seat four for dinner and can also be converted to form an additional sleeping berth at nighttime. Docking is a breeze when you combine her bow and stern thrusters and her 360-degree visibility allowed by her sliding glass bulkhead enclosure.
Accomodations.
Below deck the Back Cove 33 offers plenty of head and elbow room. With 6'5" of interior height, she is one of the most spacious boats in her class. Forward is a large v-berth which measures almost seven feet in length and in width. Unlike boats with island berths, this design offers the most flexible sleeping arrangement possible: without the filler there are two large single berths, and with the filler in place the crew can sleep athwartships or fore and aft
Aft of the berth to starboard is a well proportioned, cedar lined hanging locker and to port is a comfortable lounge with handsome inlaid table that can convert for additional sleeping.
Modern Luxuries
Her vee-hull and dependable diesel engine get her on a plane at 12 knots, and she will cruise efficiently and comfortably at 20 knots while sipping fuel at less than 11 gallons per hour. But her fuel efficiency isn't the most exciting part of partaking in a cruise on this boat - at idle she boasts only a sound level of 59 decibels, and a mere 76 decibels while cruising at almost 20 knots! This decreased level of sound is due in part by her quality deck hardware selected to reduce rattling, and also because of the new "NidaCore" material used as a sandwich in her deck.
