First Time Buyers
When you arrive on our lot and tell us that you've never owned a boat, the first thing we need to determine is what kind of boat you're you looking for. If you know, then we'll give you a lot list and walk around the lot with you and discuss the ones that you're interested in. Or, if you prefer to walk around by yourself, you're welcome to do that also.
We want you to be comfortable and not feel like you have a salesperson breathing down your neck. We operate a very low-keyed, no pressure dealership and we want you to have fun shopping for a boat. If we don't have anything you like we understand because the most important thing to us is that you buy a boat that's right for you regardless where you buy it. (However, we can assist you in locating a boat anywhere in the United States!)
On the other hand, if you don't know what make and model you're looking for, we'll point out some factors for you to consider including what you want to use the boat for - fishing, skiing, cruising, etc.; how many people will be going out in it; where you will be boating - creek, river, bay or lake; and, price range. Next, we'll "give you the tour" (rain or shine - we've got a BIG umbrella)and show you each model we have on the lot - center console, walkaround, bow rider, dual console, cruiser, skiff, etc. and you're welcome to go aboard (we've got a ladder standing by)and look around. We also have listings that are in slips at nearby marinas that we can show you.
The process of buying a boat can take days, weeks, months even years and we appreciate that. Therefore, we don't expect you to buy a boat the first time you visit our lot (unless it's "love at first sight"). On your initial visit to Buoy 8, our goals are to assist you in determining your boating needs, share our knowledge of boats with you, and make sure you leave us with a positive feeling about buying a boat.
