Rarely does an opportunity come along that gives a serious Nordhavn Dreamer a chance to acquire an almost new Nordhavn 60 with immediate delivery. Due to the owner’s major change in plans, ”JUPITER", 60 #68 has come on the market. She has made a maiden voyage to New England last summer and is now in Florida.
She is a special boat with a custom interior inspired by an experienced owner in collaboration with the experts at Pacific Asian Enterprises.
From her twin main engines to the hot tub on the boat deck, this incomparable 60 offers the most in comfort and sea keeping ability. Jupiter has an extended salon, boat deck and an updated galley with two big Sub-Zero refrigerators. Reports from two seasoned Nordhavn captains describe her tracking off shore as “like she is on rails.”
The layout has put priority on reducing the need to climb steps. The salon has been extended nearly two feet which allows for an extra set of windows permitting much more natural light.
”JUPITER" is outfitted with total redundancy in mind. She has a full complement of Furuno electronics and a complete Maretron monitoring system.
”JUPITER" was delivered new in April of 2016.

INTERIOR / LAYOUT
"JUPITER’S" cockpit was extended by 4’ and the boat deck by 2’. The boat deck extension brings the boat deck horizontal with the cockpit. This also allowed a 2’ extension of the salon moving the bulkhead aft. All lighting is custom LED.
As you enter the salon you are immediately struck with a feeling of open space. With a large L settee to port and long L settee to starboard, both with tables, there is ample, comfortable, seating for large groups or families. There is even room for a comfortable ”easy” chair in the port aft corner. Cabinets are plentiful and topped with granite matching the galley. The interior is finished in cherry with the grain oriented horizontally. This orientation also fools the eye into thinking the space is longer. This is carried throughout the boat. Ultra leather fabric on the settees. Phantom screen on salon door. Uline refer and icemaker on fwd end of stbd settee.
Custom window treatments table covers are provided.
A 40 inch Sony HD TV is mounted in the aft port corner of the salon affording visibility to the galley and port and starboard seating areas.
Floors throughout are teak and ebony. Custom square cabinet, drawer pulls and LED light fixtures throughout.
Oceanair screens on all overhead hatches and sliding door screens on all doors.

Moving forward, to stbd is access to the pilothouse and access to engine room and utility room. A new custom stair design was incorporated allowing for a level deck from bow to stern also allowing for an enlarged galley and walk-in pantry.
To port is the master cabin which offers a queen side berth built athwartship with night tables and reading lamps on each side. There's a custom ventilation hatch and oversize portlights with screens. The entire aft stateroom wall features custom hanging lockers and drawers. Additional drawers are located below the bed.
The master head includes a custom shower with marble floor and counter tops.
Moving forward, to port is a walk-in “pantry” with nicely organized shelving.
Moving into the guest space first is the head and shower. Then a queen berth on the centerline with ample stowage. This space can be privately enclosed so that the head remains ensuite.
Under the guest cabin is a large storage and machinery space accessed down a ladder through the sole. The two 800 GPD watermakers, redundant and plumbed fresh water pumps, hydraulic bow thruster and water purification system are all here with lots of additional stowage to be utilized.
Moving down to the utility room is access to the engine room as well as the washer/dryer. These are separate units with an externally vented dryer. There is ample stowage here for spares and the room has A/C.
Moving up the circular stair to the pilothouse you immediately see the difference this layout makes. The dash and panels range the full width of the pilothouse. There is plenty of room for twin Stidd helm chairs and a full seating area aft with lots of under seat storage.
The pilothouse cabin now offers a full head and separate shower, unavailable on earlier 55s and 60s with the std. layout. Both doors are equipped with Phantom screen doors.
All doors throughout have magnetic catches and are squared to match the overall design philosophy.
"JUPITER" is a twin engine twin skeg version of the 60. The main propulsion engines are John Deere 4045 AFM 85- M2 rating- 180 hp @ 2,400 rpm. Conventional wet exhaust and heat exchanger cooling. Each engine has a large 190 amp alternator with balanced charging controllers installed.
There is an added forward fuel tank for a total fuel capacity of 2,300 gallons. The twin engine and skegs offer superior speed and power over single engine use as well superior tracking than the single engine versions of this design.
Spurs line cutters on both upgraded shafts.
There are Mather’s controls at each station (5), wheelhouse, fybridge, both wings and aft.
A PAE designed oil change system hard plumbed in main engines and generators and transmissions.
A Powerview digital function gauge for each of the mains.
Shafts have been upgraded to Aquamet 22. PYI drip less shaft seals. Five blade props treated with Prop Speed.
The main generator is a Northern Lights M844LW3 20 KW @60 Hz mounted in a sound shield. The main generator also is equipped with a power take off for the hydraulic system to insure full power to the thrusters while docking.
The secondary generator is a Northern Lights 12 Kw, also in a sound shield.
Both exhaust elbows on generators have been upgraded to stainless steel.
Both generators are located in the engine room maximizing the space in the lazarette and keeping noise to a minimum.
Vacuum gauges are mounted on all Racors serving engines and generators. Each engine and generator has duel filters for quick inline changes.
Fuel transfer pump has been upgraded to Oberdorfer Model # N991-32-C82 in lieu of the STD Walbro pump.
The optional hydraulic system includes 25hp bow and stern thrusters and both engines have hydraulic pumps as well as the aforementioned power takeoff on the gen. There are hydraulic proportional controls at five stations. Also included is an anchor washdown with Pacer pump and nozzle and emergency bilge pump with Pacer pump.
Chilled water A/C system by Dometic with heating strips. Air conditioning condensation drains to be run to grey water tanks to ensure driest bilge possible.
The hydraulic fin stabilizers are American Bow Thruster #250 Trac Digital active fin stabilizers with digital, proportional controls at wheelhouse, flybridge, wing stations and aft station.
Fire protection is through a SEAFIRE FD 1300M fire system installed in engine room with relay box to shut down engine, generators and blowers. There are pull cables in utility room.
SEAFIRE FD 1050 fire suppression system serving the Lazarette with relay box to shut down blowers.
Strainers for main engines, generators, and water makers have been upgraded to Groco with Monel baskets.
Battery Charger is a Victron Skylla TG 24/100 with control panel and dedicated inlet.
There are two 8D lifeline batteries added to the STD 8 on the house bank. The two 4Ds in series comprise the 24volt engine starting bank.
There is one Group 31 Lifeline battery in the pilothouse for 12 volt service with a 70 amp 24/12 voltage regulator.
Two Outback 3.5 KW inverters model #VFX 3524 Installed stacked for a total of 7 KW.
Shore Power inlets include 50 AH and 30 AH at the transom and the bow. These inlets upgraded to “Smart Plugs”.

DECK & HULL
"JUPITER’S" cockpit accommodates a built-in settee with FRP table and a console with an electric barbecue to stbd of the salon door. There is a large electric hatch giving access to the lazarette below. There is an aft helm station built into the custom settee with extra storage. A circular staircase leads to the boat deck with a hinged hard cover.
Extended swim platform with two pop-up cleats, staples and a heavy-duty swim ladder.
Two LED underwater lights at transom.
Transom has the added underwater wave slap reduction and water line extension installed.
Glendinning shore power cord system at stern with 85' cord.
A Bauer Jr. II dive compressor is mounted in the lazarette as well as a separate air compressor with cockpit outlet.
On the boat deck all the way aft and mounted athwart ship is the AB tender. She is an Alumina13 with white painted hull. 30 hp Yamaha, stbd. console with VHF radio and depth sounder. Also includes bimini, tow rope and bridle and all covers.
The boat deck has been extended providing additional storage above and needed shade and water protection below.
Additional gas is stored in a 30 gal FRP box with nozzle to keep the tender going.
The davit is mounted centerline, all the way aft. This allows for launching either P&S or off the transom.
Setting "JUPITER" apart from all other 60 offerings is the four-person Jacuzzi installed on the centerline fwd on the boat deck. Many an evening will be spent here enjoying your favorite beverage and the stars!
Up the ladder to the flybridge you find three Todd helm chairs, Uline refer with icemaker and sink installed in the FRP console. A “rumble” seat offers additional seating on the flybridge.

The Portuguese bridge offers ample storage, P&S wing control stations and a stbd. boarding door for those high, fixed docks.
The foredeck is surrounded by solid stainless steel rails with no wire life lines.

Anchoring is with an up-graded Maxwell 4000 hydraulic windlass with custom wheel brake handling an Ultra UA-100 anchor at 220 lbs. and large Ultra Flip swivel with 600 feet of chain. A back-up anchoring system is installed in the chain locker with a custom deck fitting for easy deployment.
There are forward and aft shore power connections with smart connectors.

In late October 2016 "JUPITER" was hauled. The bottom was stripped and two coats of Petit epoxy coating were applied. Subsequently two coats of Petit Trinidad were applied. Thru hulls cleaned, zincs renewed. The props were tweaked for performance and coated with Prop Speed.
