The Selene 108 Ocean Explorer is designed to do just that: explore. We designed it to give you the comforts of what you have come to expect in a yacht of this magnitude, and also use fuel more efficiently. Lets face it, for long range cruising you are not running at 20 knots without huge expense. The Selene 108 has a hull design that provides stability, strength, and efficient cruising for a variety of conditions. We worked to find power plant solutions that gave you the horsepower to do what you wanted but also reduced your fuel bills by thousands of dollars each year. Cruise the way you generally have been doing, just do it more efficiently, emit less emissions, and spend less money. The 108 Selene Ocean Explorer.

On-Deck Master Stateroom – The owner gets to have the best view in the house – centerline stateroom on the main deck level. With great views of the anchorage or underway, this private suite is insulated from machinery noise and creates a cozy environment away from home. For owners that like to reduce the number of stairs they climb, this is a wonderful feature. Huge master bath and walk-in closet, as well as an Owner’s Office space for working. This full-beam stateroom is surrounded by 3 views of the water views and wrapped in soothing fabrics and interior joinery.
Central Staircase – This feature is typical of a number of larger yachts to give access along a central core from the main salon up to the skylounge and pilothouse and down to the Guest Cabins. It is used here to maximize the use of space and allow travel between decks to be quick and easy. The interior remains as open as possible and it is easy to get to all decks.
Open Salon and Dining Room- What better way to show off your environment by combining these two so that the views remain all around. A grand experience made more impressive by large windows. The Main Salon is entered from the Aft Deck through the sliding doors and and a side deck door on the Starboard side at the foyer for the Central Staircase. In addition, the Galley can be entered on the Port Side from the side decks.
Chef’s Favorite Galley – Given the different styles of ownership we see today, this area is designed to allow a professional chef to work, but also to make it possible to keep the family-style cooking possible with a few refinements.
Guest Quarters – Featuring a total of 4 staterooms for guests, the lower decks offer large ports for sea views, comfortable accommodations, and a foyer for grabbing a quick cup of coffee or scones in the morning that the crew has prepared. Suitable for private cruising or charters, these cabins will make the most discerning guest comfortable and keep them happy. All cabins feature the latest in entertainment for after-hours rest.
Elevated Captain’s Cabin – This is a real crowd pleaser for both captains and owners. It gets the skipper close to the action, especially for long passages. It features a desk, head and shower, and double berth. Displays for position, depth, wind, etc are available for review at all hours. Cameras help the captain monitor the yacht from engine room to exterior decks. Instant access to the helm and ship’s monitoring via the door the the wheelhouse.
Skylounge Entertainment – What a great place to relax. This is such a wonderful place to relax behind the wheelhouse. Elevated off the water on the upper deck, it gives you a relaxing area to entertain or simply chill out in the evenings. Grab a cocktail at the bar and wander out onto the aft deck to relax in the deck chairs and enjoy the night sky. Often the skylounge is where an evening might start off before leaving the yacht for shoreside entertainment and then becomes the last place before all head to their cabins. It is a focal point for entertaining aboard for large groups or pop in a movie and grab a bowl of popcorn with the family and enjoy a quiet night on the hook.
Flybridge – With the highest view possible while cruising, this is often the spot most used underway as well as at anchor. Shaded with a hard top, this deck puts you right into your yachting environment giving you fresh air, expansive views, and comfortable outdoor spaces to relax. Add the optional hot tub and you have a popular spot for both warm climates like the Caribbean and cool climates like Alaska!
Crew Quarters – Whether used as a private yacht with a crew of three or a charter yacht with full complement, the key to a great experience is to make their accommodations as nice as possible. Finishes are done just like the rest of the yacht and captain and crew can choose what features help them both at work and leisure. Laundry service is located here, as well as the Ship’s Pantry. Each crew cabin has an ensuite head and shower, as well as TV and DVD players. The crew can monitor the yacht via cameras on all decks and engine room.
Galley and Appliances
The Galley is located on the Port Side with entry from the Dining Room as well as the side deck door. The Galley has great counter space with under-counter refrigerators for quick-need items, as well as the large commercial size refrigerator and freezer. It is a bright space with room to create those meals aboard that make cruising distant anchorages magical. Use as a home-style or charter, it is suitable for either styles.

Located at the aft end of the Selene 108, the tender garage offers owners and captains a number of benefits to this great feature. For a captain, this means that you don't have to wash the tender after coming in from a long trip - it has been stored inside. The owner will like the fact that his tender is now protected when not in use from UV and salt corrosion as much had it been kept on the upper boat deck. In addition, the weight is kept lower on the boat when stored. When the tender is deployed for use, the tender garage becomes a great space to tackle a couple of projects for the captain or for use as an activity deck right on the water.
The "Beach Club" - This is an option for the Selene 108 that leaves the tender up on the boat deck and opens up the tender garage for multiple purposes. It puts you right on the water and gives you a space to relax just steps from the water. You get the most out of this space by incorporating the aft end of the yacht with an interior designed to have an open air view of the aft deck and the water. Imagine being on the hook backed up to "The Office" in Cabo San Lucas or in St. Lucia with this layout. A glass slider gives you access from the aft deck, leaving you with the aft doors open and a breeze pulled through the Beach Club. It is a wonderful space with teak decking, head and shower, as well as sauna. Divers can get right to the water. Add work-out equipment for keeping it healthy while out cruising to distant places in the mornings - all with a great view.

The foredeck is accessed from the side decks via the central passage from the Portuguese Bridge. Dual pocket anchors with windlasses and large hawsers allow for multiple docking situation and anchoring. Side decks run along the length of the hull and offer steps to the bridge deck on each side. Access to the pilothouse is from the Portuguese Bridge allowing the captain to get on the dock quickly. Port and Starboard helm stations give the captain great sight lines fore and aft when docking. The Selene 108 allows you to dock with little drama and transitions from cruising to dockside operations quickly so you can shift gears and relax. Electrical panels are straight forward and allow you to select power inputs smoothly. SIght-lines for docking are very good, with helm controls set so that maximum visibility is available to make docking smooth and simple. Captains and Owners will appreciate the control they have in close quarters for docking, getting you the right spot for your guests. Walking aboard, you can travel up either side of the cockpit to the aft deck. You can either go up to the boat deck from the aft deck stairs or walk forward on either side deck. The Port Side will give you entry into the Galley and the Starboard side will give you access to the Foyer at the Main Stairwell and Master Stateroom doors. Taking the steps from the side deck on either side, you can go up to the Portuguese Bridge, giving you access to either side of the Pilothouse. You can walk forward of the windshield and down the centerline walkway to the bow. There are two matching settees in the bow as well as anchor platform and windlasses. The Selene 108 has twin pocket anchors for safety and precise location. Chain counters and hand held remotes help with smooth operation. Fresh water and salt water washdown as well as chain washer is located in the bow.
Selene builds a bright, clean, and user-friendly engine room giving you access to each of the yacht systems and regular maintenance items. From bright lights to access hatches to areas under deck, the best way to keep a yacht running smoothly is to ensure that access is quick and simple. Wiring runs, plumbing, and electrical service was designed to allow for the most access possible. Space is always a premium in an engine room, so when possible the engineers look to make future service be a smooth performance.

This family-style yacht offers the amenities of larger yachts while taking you to destinations safely and economically. Operating costs are reduced by spending less on fuel to get you there.
