Engine raw water intakes are through safety seacocks with diverter valves and strum boxes for emergency bilge pumping. Intake thru-hulls have external speed scoops for macro particle filtration.
Engine control system is MTU “Smart Line”. Each control station has an engine control head with integral station active pad, EDM engine monitors and a start/stop panel. EDM engine monitors and a start/stop panel are located on an overhead pod in the engine room.

Main Engine Exhaust Collector System.
316L stainless steel exhaust riser is insulated with hi temp insulation from the inlet to the water can. The insulation is faired and painted black to a yacht finish.
The surge Y is made of Inconel stainless steel alloy.
All metallic parts are wired into the ship’s bonding system.
Blue silicone exhaust duty hump hose connects the riser to the surge Y
Blue silicone exhaust duty hose connects the surge Y to the muffler system.
All hose connections are triple clamped with 316 stainless steel T-bolt clamps.
Seawater from the engine cooling system is divided by a 316L stainless steel Y tube with one port connecting to the exhaust water injection can on the riser and the other port going to the bypass valving arrangement.
Main Engine Mufflers and Transom Discharge.
Fiberglass axial mufflers (designed, manufactured and tested by Soundown Inc.) are mounted in three custom-made aluminum cradles. There is a vibration barrier between the mufflers and aluminum supports. The supports are sanded, etched, primed and painted with white urethane.
The oval transom discharge tubes are structurally glassed to the hull inside and out with multiple layers of glass and epoxy resin.
The oval transom discharge tube is chambered for the discharge of the main engine exhaust, engine raw water by-pass and the generator exhaust.
The muffler is isolated from the hull mounted transom discharge tube with blue silicone exhaust duty hoses.
All hose connections are triple clamped with 316 stainless steel T-bolt clamps.
The engine overboard bypass seawater flow is regulated by a valve for optimum exhaust backpressure. A valve regulated side spud directs water to the drip-less shaft seal. This line is monitored with a pressure and temperature gauge.
Generator Exhaust System
Fiberglass surge Y is connected to the generator’s wet elbow with blue silicone exhaust duty hose.
Fiberglass exhaust tube running aft connects to the surge Y with blue silicone exhaust duty hose.
The exhaust tube connects to a Soundown in-line lift muffler with blue silicone exhaust duty hose.
The muffler outlet connects to the generator exhaust chamber within the transom mounted main engine oval discharge tube with blue silicone exhaust duty hose.
All hose connections are triple clamped with 316 stainless steel T-bolt clamps.
Propulsion Shaft Line:
Aqualoy 22 High Strength propeller shafts turned and trued.
Thick walled filament wound fiberglass shaft log (tube) with Thordon high performance shaft bearing in the aft end with the forward end machined for the shaft seal hose. The tube is laser aligned and structurally glassed to the hull with multiple layers of glass and epoxy resin inside and out.
Proprietary Performance Propeller Pockets are designed by a leading marine hydrodynamic expert reduce the draft 10” over a conventional shaft configuration.
Custom cast bronze, single leg NACA foil strut with Thordon high performance shaft bearing. Strut is through bolted to aluminum backing plate with 316 stainless steel bolts.
Drip-less shaft seals secured to the shaft logs with spring-loaded compression hoses. A valve regulated side spud on the bypass manifold supplies lubrication water to the shaft seal. This line is monitored with pressure and temperature gauges.
5 blade Veem propellers are tuned to each vessel for ultimate efficiency and smooth operation.
The engine coupling is custom made to a ZF design.
Engine room Ventilation:
The cabin side vents provide natural ventilation to the engine room via the internal air box. The air box inlets to the engine room have hook vane demisters to remove moisture and salt form the air. The air box has an overboard drain to remove any water that enters the vents. A fire door slams shut over the hook vanes just prior to the discharge of the fire system.
Two 12” axial ventilation fans provide forced air in and out of the engine room. Both blowers have variable speed frequency drives, are thermostatically controlled and reversible depending on the programming.
Two custom 316L stainless steel high aspect ratio rudders designed for optimum efficiency.
Hull-mounted, heavy duty cast bronze stuffing box with integral Thordon rudder bearing and Teflon packing. Stuffing box is thru bolted to an external 316L stainless steel backing plate with 316 stainless steel bolts.
Heavy section painted aluminum channel rudder support shelf is bolted to threaded aluminum plates cast within the stringers.

Custom cast bronze tiller arms.
Stainless steel tiller arm tie rod.
Power assisted hydraulic steering system with a power ram on each tiller arm. One ram has the power follow-up servo. Each propulsion engine has a power steering pump, power steering fluid filter and heat exchanger installed by the engine distributor.
Two fluid reservoirs with pressure gauges charge the system with fluid.
Helm pumps have a five turn lock-to-lock actuation.
Manual back up to the power system is provided by the helm pumps.
Multiple aluminum fuel tanks having a total capacity of approximately 4,500 gallons (17,034l). (Note: some options will affect fuel capacity)
Each fuel tank has two fuel fills, dual vents, two level monitoring points and full port ball valves on all pick-up tubes. Engine room tanks sight tubes.
The fuel management panel has the valving for the fuel transfer system, engine fuel supply selection and generator fuel supply and return selection.
Each propulsion engine can draw fuel from the four primary engine supply tanks via a four-way selector valve on the fuel management panel.
Each propulsion engine has a dual element Separ fuel filter.
Each propulsion engine has an independent fuel-priming pump.
Each generator engine draws fuel from the center cockpit fuel tank.

The “from any tank to any tank” fuel transfer system is controlled by the supply and return valve manifolds on the fuel management panel. Fuel movement is by a bronze gear pump activated at the fuel management panel.
Next to the fuel management panel are the fuel transfer supply and return “quick disconnect” fittings activated by ports on the supply and return valve manifolds on the fuel management panel.
A fuel polishing unit parallels the primary fuel transfer pump to clean fuel from any tank to any tank and serve as a back-up to the fuel transfer pump.
All fuel supply, return and transfer hose is USCG approved with brass fittings.
All tanks have a level sender with monitors near the fuel management panel and on the primary helm station
Two aluminum water tanks with a combined capacity of 400 gallons (1,514l).
Each water tank has a water fill, dual vents, two level monitoring points and full port ball valves on all pick-up tubes.
Both water tanks can be filled from both sides of the vessel via a balancing line.
Both tanks have a level sender with a monitor in the crew area.
Headhunter primary fresh water pressure pump supplies a filtered and non-filtered split delivery manifold system. Pump is isolated with valves
Filtered “potable” fresh water delivery system with accumulator tank supplies water for consumption. From the central PVC trunk line, valve isolated branch lines to each end user device are color-coded poly tubing.
Non-filtered fresh water delivery system with accumulator tank supplies water for the toilet system.
Two 20-gallon water heaters are zoned for quick response. Each water heater has independent valving and check valves for isolation.
A 1,400GPD water maker discharges into the fresh water tanks.
Dock-side water inlet
Headhunter treatment system rated at 10 people per 24 hours. This system is rated USCG Type II and meets IMO standards.
Toilets in the owner and guest accommodations are Headhunter “Superbowl”
Toilet in the crew is neo-classic with a lift station.
All hose is rated for marine waste with ozone barrier.
Two zoned gray water tanks with submersible pumps collect shower, sink and air handler air conditioning condensation water and pump it overboard.
Air Conditioning System:
Reverse cycle chilled water air conditioning with staged compressors plumbed in an insulated closed circulation loop. Each compressor is valve isolated for independent removal without shutting down the system. The compressors are “soft start” using frequency drives.
Primary seawater circulation pump provides cooling water to the heat exchangers of each compressor.
The insulated chilled water closed circulation loop is CPVC pipe sized per the engineering recommendations of the manufacturer. Both ends of the chilled water loop are monitored and sensors control the compressor circuitry.
Each living area has local air handlers independently controlled with digital thermostats and isolated from the chilled water loop with valves for independent servicing. Larger living areas have multiple air handlers with a common digital thermostat and are isolated from the chilled water loop with valves for independent servicing. Condensation from each air handler is directed to either the gray water tanks or directly overboard.
The cold air delivery is passive by way of valances and diffusers to eliminate uncomfortable cold drafts.
Cold air is delivered to the valances and diffusers by insulated ducting or integral plenums insulated within and isolated from structure.
Each living area to have one breathe easy UV sterilizing unit.
The hydraulic system for the bow thruster, stern thruster and anchor windlass is fully engineered by the equipment manufacturer.
Hydraulic power pumps are mounted on both ZF engine transmission “C” pads for reliable power. The pumps are sized to give 100% rated power to the thrusters and windlass with both engines at idle and 80% power with one pump operating.
All hoses are rated for the pressure of each application.
Control blocks, reservoir, filter, heat exchanger and hydraulic raw water pump are located within the engine room, convenient for servicing.
Dual lever thruster controls are at the main helm station.
The hydraulic windlass is rated at 4,000# pull.
The FM-200 fire suppression system for the engine room is fully engineered by the manufacturer.
The automatic fire system is rate of rise activated with shutdown circuits for the engines, generators and blowers. Fire doors over the air boxes are mechanically released. The automatic fire system has a manual back-up pull cable with the handle located on the leisure deck.
The manual back-up fire system is a completely independent and redundant system with a pull cable for activation. The handle is located on the leisure deck.
Local automatic FM-200 fire suppression bottles are installed in areas, other than the engine room, vital to the operation of the vessel and/or contain heat-producing equipment.
Eight bilge zones each with a bilge pump
Each bilge pump is activated by an “Ultimate Senior” float switch. The float switch has “high water” contacts that send a signal to the alarm system.
The engine room bilge has an additional “emergency” bilge pump set higher than the primary engine room bilge pump. It has the same float switch and alarm activation.
The engine raw water intakes are through safety seacocks with diverter valves and strum boxes for emergency, high capacity bilge pumping.
Each bilge pump has a re-settable cycle counter on the alarm panel located in the crew area.
Sound Attenuation System:
The main engines are on MTU vibration mounts.
The generators are on manufacturer installed vibration mounts.
All pumps and motors are on vibration isolation mounts.
The salon sole support grid posts have vibration isolation pads.
The cockpit sole support posts have vibration isolation pads.
The mufflers have a vibration barrier between them and their aluminum supports.
The engine and generator exhaust components have isolation hoses.
The cabin side air vent shrouds in the salon have a waterproof sound lining and are covered with foam/vinyl sound barrier.
The salon sole carpet has a “sound pad” under.
Critical interior bulkheads have a privacy sound barrier applied.
The cored monolithic construction of the Force IX vessels also provide sound reduction.
Lubrication Oil System:
The engine oil sumps, transmission oil sumps and generator oil sumps are fitted with quick disconnects.
Oil movement is by a portable pump with hoses and quick disconnects.
Compressed Air System:
The air compressor is a oil-less type with a storage tank.
Dual Buell trumpet air horns mounted on the hard top.
An additional 20-gallon air storage pressure tank is located on the bridge for quick air horn response and sustain.
The engine room will have a quick disconnect outlet for air tools.
Cold Storage Systems:
Suggested galley arrangement has a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer combination unit.
The bar and bridge can have various combinations of under-counter refrigerators, icemakers and wine coolers. (Note: The appliances are a category on the interior allowances sheet. Custom refrigeration with sea water cooled compressor is available)
On-demand activated salt-water wash-down pump with hose spigot in the cockpit.
Auxiliary seawater sources are drawn from two sea chests. Each point had a bronze sea cock and strainer
Alternating Current Power:
Two 75’ 100a - 240VAC shore cords provide shore electricity to the ship.
Each shore cord is on a powered cable hauler.
The shore cords are protected with over current breakers, surge protection and galvanic isolators.
Multiple tap isolation transformers isolate the ship from the shore
A split bus 240 VAC power distribution panel selects the power source, monitors and distributes the power to the sub-panels

Direct Current Power:
Eight 8D 12vdc marine “Glass Mat” batteries supply the vessel with direct current power.
Four banks of two parallel-connected 12vdc batteries provide the ship with four sources of 24vdc power.
Each 24vdc battery bank has a system disconnect switch
Each engine has a 24vdc battery bank dedicated for starting.
Engine start battery banks are maintained by the engine alternators and a 60-amp battery charger.
The engine start battery banks have an emergency crossover switch.
Each generator shares a 24vdc battery bank with the ship’s service.

A Stand-alone 12/24 V.D.C. system, located on the bridge, has independent 4D “Glass Mat” batteries and charger for emergency communication and electronics.

Alarm system with display panels in the designated crew area and on the bridge monitoring high water, smoke, carbon monoxide and fire system discharge with a visual and auditory alarm.
All underwater metals are connected to a common bonding system that terminates at the sacrificial zinc anodes.

Air conditioning delivery is through a valance system that eliminates hot spots and cold drafts.
Cabinetry has removable access panels for complete access behind the cabinetry.
Interior of the storage lockers are lined with high pressure laminate.
Drawers are dovetailed hard wood.
Interior cabin doors are made with stable core wood, foam filled and faced with solid wood and/or veneer panels. Door hinges are mortised into the door and jamb.
Exterior side and aft windows are 11mm tinted, chemically hardened, laminated safety glass.
Bridge front windows are 14mm tinted, chemically hardened, laminated safety glass.
There are various tints available.
An energy guard barrier, cast within the glass, is available as an option and is offered in limited tints.
Each piece glass is custom formed to a 3d model of the receiver ensuring a perfect fit.

All topside surfaces (above the waterline) are primed and long board faired by hand using the Awlgrip paint system.

The entire underwater surface is seamlessly sprayed with two layers of epoxy primer. Both layers are sanded.

The teak salon entry doors and the aft bridge door are made with a boxwood cores covered with solid wood The exterior sides are teak and the interior sides are the same wood as the interior. The exterior finish of the doors is a multiple coat system using clear epoxy and specially formulated UV resistant high gloss topcoat. The interior finish of the doors is finished with an Italian polyester “grain fill” base with a durable satin finish topcoat. (An alternative to the teak exterior sides is mahogany painted to match the cabin.)
