The Swan 75 hull is of single skin construction using glass/aramid hybrid fibre reinforced polyester laminate with vinylester skin coats. The mast bulkhead is of carbon fibre pre-preg construction and the structural bulkheads at bow and stern are of foam cored GRP. The remainder are of marine plywood. The swan 75 has a 3.1m draught keel, which is relatively shallow for a 75-foot yacht, however it's composition, in solid lead from top to bottom, offers a large amount of stability.
Many aspects of the Swan 75 are designed with simplicity and short-handed sailing in mind. The 28.7m carbon mast is supported with four sets of swept-back spreaders, an inner forestay and just one set of runners. The fully battened mainsail lowers into a Park Avenue boom, and the headsails are easily handled on a hydraulic furling system.
The main deck is a sandwich construction using glass/aramid hybrid fibre reinforced polyester laminate with closed cell foam core on the 75FD and vinylester, instead of polyester on the 75S. The Swan 75FD has a guest cockpit amidships with the sailing cockpit aft, separated by a bridgedeck. This is the traditional swan Flush Deck concept with primary and secondary winches mounted on the aft cockpit coamings. One of these doubles as the mainsheet winch, whilst two halyard/utility winches are situated aft of the mast. The mainsheet traveller is hydraulically adjustable with a built-in Navtec cylinder, should her owner prefer to cruise effortlessly with a shorthanded crew.
The Swan 75 FD interior layout is with the owners cabin aft (one double or two single berths) and an ensuite toilet that has a separate stall shower. There are three guest cabins, two aft and one forward.
She has a spacious interior finished in handcrafted teak with outstanding attention to detail. With the main saloon it is possible to have an optional Plasma TV on the starboard side, outboard of the settee. Aft of the settee is the navigation area. The dining area on the port side of the main saloon incorporates the L-shaped settee and two Swan chairs around a solid teak table.
In the galley, the standard supplied equipment includes a four-burner gas stove, along with a microwave oven, two refrigerators and a freezer.
